I find covers pretty pointless, unless we are talking re-arranged stuff (not copying).

I kill a kitten every time my students hand in song suggestions and i see something like "The Super Awesome Song (cover) by Youtubesingerstar2145"

Support the musicians instead of the people with too much spare time.
