*PLEASE DON'T JUST IGNORE THIS BECAUSE IT HAS LOTS OF WRITING, JUST GIVE ME A SECOND OF YOUR TIME*
So the other day I was flicking through an old bmx magazine of mine, Ride UK bmx mag. Every year they do an event called ride to glory, and for those of you unfamiliar with bmx way of ride to glory, here is the basic low down. 5 teams, 8 days, 1 challenge book, 1 crate of monster energy, 1 winner and a whole load of fun! It's basically a big tour with stupid challenges with an edit produced at the end (which are always sick).
Anyway, I was thinking why hasn't the fingerboard world got something like this? It's a sick idea! Now, obviously it would be on an a lot smaller scale with a way smaller budget, but it could work and I bet it would be rad. For example, instead of doing an 8 day road trip, start off with a 1 or 2 day trip just in London or a different major city each year. Obviously it would be hard to get hold of 5 companies so why not just have 5 teams of 2 or 3 people. I haven't really put much thought into this and would recommend Kerry undergoing organising this as he has the 'power' in the fingerboard world and the brains behind him.
So please do give this a thought and maybe reply as I personally think this could be great. If you're interested in finding more out about the bmx ride to glory check out http://rideukbmx.mpora.com/ride-to-glory/ to see the edits go to youtube and type in 'ride to glory 2011 *team name*' , here is bsd's edit if you're struggling to find one;
thanks if you actually read this far, Ieuan

this type of contest has been going down for AGES, its called 'king of the road'. LOADS of people have done it before in skateboarding, probably ages before these bmx people did it.
nice idea in person, very hard to execute. but if someone can come up with a plan that works, maybe it oculd happen. I think the scene is just too small tbh
It would be super fun! however, finding someone willing to organize and support it might be difficult. Ill deff do shit like this when i get a skateshop open i agree with kerry, fingerboarding is pretty small to pull something of this magnitude off at this time.

I used to love doing Bmx and watching all the ride to glory vids (you made me want another bmx you prick jokes) that'd be sick doing it as a fingerboard comp type thing though maybe like every one meet up split in to 3-5 teams then get on a train to (lets say london to manchester ) then like stop of at major places then make edits in each major city/place if you get what i mean then do like 5 vids and everyone votes which is the best

yeah thats pretty much what i had in plan, it sounds so fun and would give sick coverage. Like kerry says though, the scene isn't big enough... another alternative is that they just have two teams of 3 and stay in london, anything would be a start
