Hey guys I got a Canon T3i a while back for some short films I wanted to work on. Then I got to thinking...why am I not filming myself fingerboarding with this magnificent beast!?!!? Long story short I am gonna start a channel and film/ edit some of my first videos. Now the question is what do you guys generally use for settings on your DSLR's. If you have some great secret then keep it to yourself but anything that's just general will be a greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys, I will post my first video on this thread when I make it within the next couple weeks. (college exams are not fun No ) Until then later!!!

On the T2i I use.

In the menu setting

1280x720 (50 or 60 fps) : all depend of the lights frequency.

Manual video exposure.
High light priority : off

Auto lightning correction : off.

On the camera setting.
Opening speed : everything above 200. Below your software slomo will be a little blurry.
Iso : never above 800.

Everything else will be in function of your needs of lightning, depth of field, artistic means...

I have the Canon EOS 550D/T2i
Settings:
1280x720
50 frames per second
Shutter speed: 250, or higher when i'm outside and it's really bright.
iso: I'm trying to always have it at 100, sometimes 200 and sometimes 400 but not more than that.
Aperture: I'm using the 50mm lens so i'm always having aperture at 1.8. I think it's cooler with low aperture when you get a blurry background.
very happy
