Well not always, depends partially on the glue. Sometimes certain glue doesnt always dry too great and also yes depends on experience because the amount of glue effects the outcome of the pop. More glue, less pop, less and more even layer of glue= more pop! lol. another one who hasn't the foggiest.
im not about to give away trade secrets, but ill say it again.
it is not the glue. it is you.
the methodology/ timing and curing are far more important than the glue.
so ill say it again.
it is not the glue. it is you.
thats all the advice im giving away...i feel ive given too much already. deck making is full of problems if you want perfection....im still running into new problems now that i have to overcome by my own methods....bottom line, if you cannot experiment and work out stuff by yourself, deck making is not for you.
nobody is going to buy a mold, glue, vice etc, then a few months later going to have amazing decks......sorry its not going to happen. if you want to be the best, the best is experience and that cannot be rushed.
look at your environment. id start their Casper. Im not disagreeing with you, he might just be using something not dedicated for woodwork. I see what your saying. |

Also one question, how long do you let your decks sit? Make sure at least 24 hours. But personally i would say more unless they are in a warmer area that will dry the glue faster, but longer creates more pop because there is constant pressure on the plies while drying.

hafta squeeze the mold tighter until you pulverize every wood fiber to dust held together by glue on each of the layers.

Actually it's bad if you tighten the wood too much. I think it's called like wood dehydration (sp?) But it's when you literally squeeze the glue out of the wood.

thats why you need to soak the wood in a pre glue bath first - to let it penetrate all the way thru each ply - then stack up each layer and press until the deck is paper thin about 55 tons of preassure should do im kidding guys.
