Okay first of all dont say just try to find something that works best for me, cause trust me I have tried many ways! LOL

I am running into an issue because my belt sander is currently not working correctly so I have tried alternatives...

-Finishing sander(to slow and not enough friction)
-Dremel bit sander(hard to keep the sanding even and can burn wood easily)
-Belt sander(works great but not working)
-hand sanding(good for finishing but takes forever for larger amounts of wood!)

Any other suggestions, I know there arent many more, but just thought I would ask for some help because I wanna cut some more decks out.

Oh and I know a scroll saw works great but I haven't decided if I would like to purchase one yet.

I use broken skateboard decks. It works good, you have better control, and it makes a good use for broken decks! Try it out if you're into skating and stuff.

Those are really nice, I might purchase one of those, my belt sander is just like the one on there, and i have a separate disc sander. Im gonna look for a good deal at homedepot, lowes, or menards. Thanks for the suggestion Ryan!

No problem man. I actually prefer to use the disc sander on that. It just feels more right.

I use my belt and disc sander, its more or less exactly like the one stated above, if you are just messing around I used a hand band saw to cut out and used sand paper...

It could i guess but if you use brittle veneer that saw would reck it. Plus a scroll saw would be for a rough shape not how you'd use a disc sander for a deck.

Yeah, I guessed it would be rough, probably would need sanding afterwards, I've just always been curious as to how well it would work, aha

Yeah man, Ive heard that scroll saws are one of the best ways. Quick and easy and then the sanding doesnt take long at all!

I have used a scroll saw for a really long time, and to be honest, it really is for just cutting out the rough shape like RyanMarshment said, but then again, the deck can come out amazing as long as you take your time. I'm getting sick of using it though because its so easy to slip up and ruin your deck. I would definitely say go with the disc sander. I'm planning on investing in one.
