| Another point, Below i display a table paralleling Jesus and his life with The Egyptian man-god Horus. Stories of Horus' existence had been circling from 4-7 centuries before Jesus' time. So, 'If any copying occurred by the writers of the Egyptian or Christian religions, it was the followers of Jesus who incorporated into his biography the myths and legends of Horus, not vice-versa.' As you can see there is great overlap between these two 'gods'. This baffled me. Did Jesus and Horus both exist? it's a mighty coincidence. I can't fathom how the Church can base their religion on someone who may not have existed at the time they think he did. Let alone a man who seemed to lead the same life as someone from hundreds of years before him. i'm confused. (for more info, click here) |

| there is so much info you have to work through iuts crazy...you have to make up your own mind...
i think where alot of people go wrong is when they think of Jesus as God.
i believe in God. who/whatever they are i do not know (for sure).
stories relating to 'gods' are misleading you away from the 'one god'. there is only one. anyone or anything trying to display themselves as a god is misleading you.....unless they are the 'one' lol. |

| But what if I were to say that I was a follower of the Egyptian/ Greek/ any polytheistic religion? Obviously I am not because I find those ideas also ludicrous. But what if I did, hypothetically, would you say that I was wrong? I'm just playing devil's advocate here. |

| no, i wouldn't.
I'd describe myself as an ap-atheist (apathetic atheist). I don't care. I agree with Kerry about live and let live. i hate all the moral cleansing that goes on. just leave it out. I don't want to tell someone they are wrong, just share my beliefs, but only when prompted. |

| I'm agnostic or christian, it's very hard for me to tell. I don't believe in the big bang theory, but I don't believe in the story of creation. I believe that a man called jesus existed but that's it, I don't think he was some healer (well he might of been) I feel that most christians rely on the bible way too much, I think, that if you want to be a good christian you need to use the rules: Love your God and Love thy neighbor. ^that's honestly all I think christians need to do.
Also does anyone else think the opening point in this thread was really non-philosophical? Like come on, it's such an obvious thing to say. |

i completely and wholeheartedly agree. If there is a "god" he supposedly gave us free will. isnt the epitome of free will to either oppose or at least question "him"? |

| I think it will just end. Notice how you don't remember anything until you're like what.. 7-8? Before you couldn't think and you were nothing, then suddenly you notice you are making conscious thoughts and decisions.
You'll die and it will be done. yolo. |

| Cogito ergo sum. I think therefore I am.
Life can't just be an illusion or 'hallucination'.
Conscious thoughts prove you're and everything around you, is real. |

| I prefer the idea of no afterlife. Without life there is no death, and without death, no life. It makes it special, I only have, say, 80 years left, maybe even less. So live life the way you want, play by your own rules, and still be a good person. |

| When you die, it's just nothingness. Your mind isn't active to think anything of it, so you won't even realise your dead.
Also, who believes in ghosts / paranormal stuff? Also, not the films. They aren't real. |
