its easy, for quarters, just, cut out 4 or more extra side pieces (i.e. the bit with the curve on it) than the two you need, and put them along the inside for stability. Selotape them all to the back, then to the top, then put the thin card on as the surface, and, bam, done.

Homemade low rail! Finally came in the post, apparently the stock was delayed so it took like 3 weeks even though it was from the UK. Got it off ebay for less than £2. Then two teeny scraps of wood I cut and sanded into nice feet for it. Amazingly smooth and amazingly fun. I honestly recommend everyone go get a handle thing off ebay and make one.
Its 4cm high with the feet, and 24cm long. <3

I actually really like that second picture also, the focus being really sharp at the front, then contrasted with the background, looks really cool I reckon.
