oaks are grippier than winklers, but winklers are a bit smoother than oaks. both have a very decent amount of grip and squeek, just oaks more than winklers. winklers aren't centralised bearing which imo is nicer as it makes the trucks look wider.

I prefer winklers but its up to what you want.

depends what you fingerboard most on. the counter tops at my work are glass and formica surface wich is super smooth and provides no traction at all. so i personaly will like a grippy type wheel as it will provide me with a more solid feeling with what im riding on.. vs the feeling of skidding around on slick wheels.

a kid has winkler br wheels on a setup who comes to my skate park alot. his setup rides smoothly - with no bumps or lumpy feeling when riding and his winkler wheels dont realley pick up alot of dirt on them when its riden on the countertops - my china bearing wheels and flat face wheels do pick up alot of dirt riding on the same surface - but neither winkler nor flatface or china bearing wheels provide any good traction on those smooth surfaces.

ive got oaks and close up bearing wheels on the way to me now to give a shot at riding on such a smooth surface that i have - and i hope to get the results that i wish for - but in my opinion - its all up to your preference and your idea of how you want your setup to feel when riding it and what type of surface you ride mostly on

I suppose it depends on what Winklers you might get. I have BRT edit Winklers, and they aren't any better than lathed china wheels. If you ride outdoors, then you should stick with Oak wheels, as they're very durable.

I heard the TLC Winklers, and Big Daddy'z offer a bit of grip, but not as much as Oaks.

I have Oaks and Winklers, and I prefer my Oak wheels.

Hope this helps.

oak for me.

they have their pros and cons, just like all wheels, but they have more pros than any other wheels imo.

also they are the most realistic, and once you fall in love with them all other wheels feel like riding budget board plastic wheels.

also for riding transistion there is no competition. with oaks your style looks real as you flow on the ramp, and if you cannot revert in time you bail.

riding winklers on the mini just looks unrealistic as they slide all over the shop when landing flips etc.

oaks also wear down like real wheels and discolor like real wheels.

they are an aquired taste, but as someone else said. you have to try both to determin wherer you are at with your fingerboarding.

never tried winklers but i can assume they are just average smooth wheels, oaks on the other hand are not very smooth but they offer something new and unusual but they dont actually ride great super amazing or anything
