Hey guys, I just wanted to share with you all how I restore my bushings that have been ripped or torn.
This works to make ripped o-ring bushings or realistically shaped bushings like witchrafts or tky's usable again. I know many people have problems with witchrafts tearing after trying to ride them really tight and I personally had a pair rip on me because they came with a little tear to begin with. This method will salvage them and they've actually held up very well for a long time.
My fixed ripped witchrafts:
What you'll need:
-super glue
-paper clip
-scrap paper
-broken bushing
To begin, this won't work for bushings that have been completely squished from riding your trucks insanely tight. This is primarily for bushings that have ripped from overuse or just a weak spot in the bushing. It's super easy to fix though.
Step 1:Take your scrap piece of paper and drop a little dab of super glue on to it. (devcon brand super glue is the absolute best if you can find it)
Step 2:Seperate your ripped bushing with your fingers and gently dip super glue into the torn part and then set the bushing down on the paper to start drying. Don't dip too much glue at once. You don't want to coat the entire bushing, you just want to make sure the tear gets glued together. Super glue is plenty strong to repair the bushing. A tiny bit goes a long way.
Step 3:Next you want to take your paper clip and bend the end part into a 90 degree angle to make a stand like this:
And then you want to put the paper clip into the center of the bushing (as shown above) to ensure that the hole in the middle won't get glued together. After it has dried for a minute, dip the outside part of the bushing where the crack is back into the super glue to ensure the outside has been properly sealed.
Step 4:Let it dry overnight, and your bushing is now usable again. In the first 10 minutes of drying make sure you move the bushing around on the paper clip every once in a while just to make sure it doesn't glue it self to the paper clip.
The bushings will take a little bit of breaking in to do again to make them feel back to normal. my torn pair of witchcrafts are working very well again they just are a tad bit less responsive. Witchcrafts have insane response though, of course, so they still function wonderfully.
