| Someone from here somehow travelled back in Internet time to 2004 and posted an average setup from 2014 and a generic fingerboard video. What would have been their reaction? how do you think it would've changed to future of fingerboarding?
idk pretty random but I've put a little thought into this lately, got me wondering... |

| the people would be pissed that there are fingerboard setups which are more expensive than skate setups. given the fact back then, the generic board was a td with modded tuning. |

| The only thing that's really changed since back then is width, graphics and trucks.
We've had wooden decks, foam tape and bearings for a hell of a long time.
The video would give you a bunch of sponsors though.. I can see this scenario play out more or less exactly like when Taylor R joined FFI.. It was kinda like he was from the future. Posting mad videos with a shitload of BRR.
Everyone hated him out of jealousy. |

| I'm pretty lucky to have gone through the major developments in the fingerboard scene.. I came in just before bearings, those made the biggest difference in my experience, especially the first wheels specifically made to accommodate the bearings, phwoar. Riptape was already knocking around, but most people used grip tape, how times have changed!
I'd love to go back to my past self and explain that I would travel to Germany to some place in the middle of nowhere and find nirvana! Never mind the setups, just what's happened to me is a mindblower! |
