I've been experimenting with different concrete for a while now making various obstacles and I haven't found the right concrete that's just smooth and delicious. I've tried plastic concrete, regular concrete, mortar, and trying to mix some to see if that would do anything. If anyone knows what type of concrete wired ramps or klotz block uses or anything similar it would be really helpful.

Plaster works really well if you have lacquer to clear coat it with. That's the secret to the buttery feel, clear coat the concrete.

This is just speculation, but sifting whatever concrete you do decide on should make it smoother too.

It also depends how you are using it. If you are filling molds then use a generous amount of silicon lubricant to get a really smooth result. If you are applying it to something (say stryofoam forms or something) then you can smooth it as it dries, which if done right can make the concrete almost as smooth to grind as polished marble.

I'm so-so on lacquering, myself. I quite like the feel of raw (primed, at any rate) concrete. But then marble doesn't do much for me either...
