in a constructive way as possible, when you say the UKR and some other distributors are the only things holding it together, ive gotta say i disagree.
UKR is pretty new and the idea came together in may '09.
now arctic has been around at the foundations of fingerboarding so that was a help
i know people such as euan lynn and eddie sharples, simon cartledge, they've been around for as long as arctic maybe longer.
personally i feel that people emphasise that the fingerboard scene is falling apart, with banners such as 'save the fingerboard scene' when in fact, its developing rather rapidly, for example, an increase on availability to wooden fingerboards.
the idea of UKR was to develop the growth of interest in Fingerboarding in the UK, not as such 'save the scene'. i can happily say my goal was achieved, as thom mcinally said to me, thanks for this, you've got me back into fingerboarding. now if one person can do that, just think what we can all do?
so all in a nutshell, the fingerboard scene is not needing to be saved, but if you'd like to put it, nutured in its development?
anyways, i'll go into depth about this on another topic as i think its an issue that could be adressed.
good research on the web links though, appreciated. just shows that there are people out there helping to expand fingerboarding interest in the UK, and that there are UK people supporting us with their products
