I think you mean width but the G1-3 decks are 26mm and the G4 decks, supposedly 2mm wider, measures 27.5mm for the board I have.

I wouldn't phrase it like that but I guess they are pretty shit. My Close Up G3 is pretty useful as an outdoor fb or inexpensive fb for taking around though.

you guy's are pretty quick to mock the width of it... If you were to use my old berlinwood from 03' or my shortwood OR 95% of my entire collection for that matter(from 02-05') you'd be so shocked berlin was ever that thin, it was only 25mm wide, all companies pretty much used a TD as a template, you guy's are to spoiled with fingerboards. My day you had to pray your board came out good.. i still have a <3 that sucks ass but i bought it because of the name.. I see close-up keeping the oldschool root's and refusing to change, which is another old school trait.

Close up looks decent, they remind me of exactly my era.. A wooden techdeck.

Sorry but it really just annoys me when people who have been fingerboarding longer than the majority of us have a rant at everyone because we don't know something or are even just used to what we got nowadays, it's like when a kid scoffs up a kitkat and their parents have a rant at them for not appreciating it because they had to work hard to get something like that when they were young, it's just really pointless and it's not even the kids fault because he doesn't know any better.

It just anoying to hear people say they're shit because of a width or length.. I understand it's an opinion but really it's the only difference in boards these days, practically every board is a cookie cutter... I'm not complaining, it's great that you only have to worry if it fits your preference but a " shit" board is a board that comes warped, miss-shapened, pourly drilled, or wasn't even pressed right... Not because it's only 26mm wide or 96mm long... to me it's just a pour choice of words to call a board shit because it doesn't fit your preference.

And a parent ranting to they're child about anything is far from pointless, it's they're way or telling you to appreciate something weather it be about earning money or my part on appreciating what you guys have in selections of boards.. to actually reason with your example is quite silly, your right to say " the kid doesn't know any better" for the first time hearing it but after that the kid should know better.

Um, i'm talking about harry's " Modification" not xi's comment, i have eyes and a brain, thanks.

and it's just irritating to see people being so oblivious to how things used to be or how things actually progressed to today's standards.

I'm not trying to pick a fight, just a rant to people who are.... Nieve to what really is shit and stating to really pick better words than claiming something is shit.. if you want to see shit you should have seen boards only 5-6 years ago.. that was shit.. boards that you spent good money and got excited about and then you physically couldn't even use the board, trucks wouldn't go on straight or at all or major warps..

I'd just like to clarify that I'm not saying Close Ups are shit because of the width. I still ride my 26mm Berlinwood old mold as my main setup as I have done for years. What I don't like about the Close Ups are that the truck mount positions on the deck are too close to each other and should be a bit closer to the concaves. That and the fact that their deck and truck widths are never the same in any generation.

yeah, my close up complete isnt even that bad tbh, the wheelbase is a little short, but apart from that its nice to ride
i have to put alot more flick into my tricks because its really light, but the craftsmanship is good, it sets up easily, its good if you get used to it, its not a shit deck. it depends on preference. look at euan lynn? he rides a close up and he's a fucking beast
just cause YOU cant ride a deck well, it doesnt make it shit
but at the end of the day, any deck can be used well, you just have to get used to it
