So yeh i have a Canon Legria HF R106

there is no thread on it and i have measured the lense from side to side and it measures 40mm
is there any way i could buy a step up/thread and glue it on the camera so the lense can screw on and off ?? very happy

You could do that. My friend did the same thing you mentioned and it work! But you have to be super careful if you don't do it right is gonna be fucked up. Although there is another way. You can buy these special fisheyes (they're pretty cheap) which clip onto your camera. I think the second solution would be the best choice.
