Why do you participate to fingerboarding forums? (Whether it's this one or not) Saying: "To keep the fingerboarding scene up'' does not count. I'll start:

I am here because fingerboarding is something that is hard to understand for most people. When speaking with my friends (being 21) it's very hard to be taken seriously when I say that I fingerboard. Here, it's much easier to talk about this hobby/passion. I also love searching through the forum. It becomes better then googling (you get much more relevant answers to your fingerboarding questions here then on google).

Some of My friends don't get the concept of foam tape. And when I tell them the deck is real wood they go bonkers. I feel like when I am on forums I am communicating with people that know what i'm talking about, and I love to type.

I have a feeling that by the end of this thread, I will be able to say that I agree with everything that everyone said (so will everyone who will post). We are all here for the same reasons in the end!

For the fact that my friend introduced me to it and there are not many people to talk to but here i can talk to many fingerboarders and learn and hopefully become a helper insteaded of a learner

im here because after i got on forgiven and started to get featured on unite i decided to come hangout and see other peoples stuff!

Basically this. I just wanted to talk about Fingerboarding with other people and there is no scene here so...

The people I fingerboarded with a long time ago all grew out of fingerboarding. I discovered and participate in the online scene as I wanted to talk more about it, find out information relating to fingerboarding and where to buy better products. Not to sound too arrogant but I never came to watch videos, I already had influence from freestyle and street skateboarding. I remember always wishing to find a UK event close to me. All events I ever heard about were in the US so I was so stoked when I found a mostly UK board with UK events. Now, I'm a mod so I'm here to keep you all in check and the nerve of asking me why I am here warranties a ban for disrespecting me. I kid.

no, this place is home. I came originally wanting to talk about fingerboarding but its soo much more now. some of the people here are some of my best and closest friends in the whole world. Fingerboarding is an amazing global community and I'm proud to say I'm admin of probably the second biggest english speaking fingerboard forum in the world. <3 you guys

To find and talk to people close to me and discover other fingerboard talent, rather than stalking mike schneider with no chance of a conversation with him haha

And I'm so glad I found fbhq, and watch how this place turned from nothing into having new members everyday as well as the UK scene, look how many events there are now compared to 2009!

I'm here because fingerboarding is also one of my many passions. I love being able to be treated normally and not looked at like a dweeb. When everyone is able to get hyped on everyone else. It reminds me of the snowboarding and skateboarding communities(:

this place is just super friendly and i meet new awesome people every day.

Also i like the fact that its not so exclusive as ffi which is also cool, and its good to have an amazing forum representing the uk scene bringing everyone together to discuss our love for fingerboarding.

I think it's safe to say that this website doesn't only represent the UK scene anymore. Many internationals (including myself) participate. Would be sweet to see the UK flag on the main banner turned into a globe.

yes, i was going to mention that but what i mean is that the creator, Kerry is a proud englishman which means its uk based and should be remembered as the main uk forum, but it wouldnt be anything without all you international heads. well not for now i think kerry probably wants to keep the whole uk feel to it i would of thought but i may be wrong.

@MartinRobs, this place was born and bred in the UK! We cant change the flag hehe

I'm just saying it's become international. And it's easy for someone from the UK to want to keep it (so far, only people from the UK have defended it ).
