I want fingerboarding to be less about buying new stuff and more about actually doing it. It seems like half the videos on youtube these days consist of kids talking about what they just bought and what they are ABSOLUTELY DYINGGG OMG to buy next. I like reviews and unboxings dont get me wrong but just dont centre the hobby around spending money and materialism.

also i would like to see kittens.

Ive honestly never had a problem with people hating on my fingerboarding. I had a house party once and people saw my fb stuff in my room and they didnt say anything in fact they were kinda interested and wanted to try it out. i guess it just depends how old you are too. Being 17 i can expect my friends to be more mature and accepting than a 13 year old or something.

This is how it works though, by not making fun of them they think im ignoring them so without a comeback it gets worse. Im perfectly fine with people spending money on video games but they just hate on fingerboarding and even skateboarding. If people were more open minded this wouldn't even be a problem...

I literally have no irl friends to make fun of it (my only irl friends are people from here, people where I used to live, and my girlfriend), but back where I used to live my friends liked it, and people I knew who weren't really friends tried to rip on me for it, but after they realised I didn't give a shit they found someone else to rip on.

In all seriousness though i find that people look down on fbing just because its different. no one looks down on the kids that play video games like theres no tomorrow simply because thats like 90% of kids.

I have 4 people that fingerboard with me and we just try to spread the love.

I honestly just don't care if people hate. My girlfriend thinks its cool and respects it, my friends understand we all have hobbies, and I seem to get nothing but looks of interest when I ride in public.

Lucky ive tried to ease it into conversation to but it just gets like "overided" but my friends dont mind it and i hope to get more people into it.

I heard my friends once talking at school about tech-decks and they said that they used to do it when they were like 10 years old and now they think it was ridiculous because it's something for babies. I was just new at school and I did not want screw up my "reputation", so I didn't tell them I actually like fingerboarding. I think it's all about how your friends think about it, because I also like riding my bike, and some of my friends even thought that was ridiculous too just because the biggest nerd of my school also likes it. Where I live it isn't just accepted at all and I don't know why, it's just a hobby like gaming in my opinion.

EDIT: And I also suck at it, I just learned nollies, but can't do them consistently and I can sometimes do a heelflip, and my friends only like things they're good at because in their opinion it's stupid to waste your time on something you're not good at :roll: But now I've got a "good reputation" I think they would accept the fact that I like it, but I'm not sure so I only will tell my really best friend about it because I know I can trust him and he doesn't think it's stupid.

EDIT: I think we just are all on this forum because we can't talk about it to our friends because they do not understand it. I'm also on other fora of games my friends don't like just to talk about it because nobody of my friends/family understands.
