Anyone have experience working with Carbon Fiber? I've only seen a couple people make decks with them! I'm picking up a sheet this week then going to the shop to try and machine some prototype wheels with this material, the outcome will def look cool but I don't want to waste much of the material because it's more expensive. So anyone who has experience or opinions on Carbon Fiber, share your thoughts!

i warn you now.. if you plan on making wheels with carbon fibre they will look pants! just black and grainy you will loose all the fibre print when shaping them (unless you cut circles out and layer them up) wheels you see on cars bikes ets with the nice fibre look are moulded from flat sheets built up and covered with carbon cloth ive worked with carbon fibre allot in the forces but try non the less and get some pics up XD as experimentation is always fun this is perfect example what i mean flat face is beautiful but edges suck balls also carbon fibre has a tendency to splinter so watch out ! Try machining washer sized discs then epoxying them together then smoothing the edges off... that will look the boss LAYERS LAYERS LAYERS AND YOU WILL SUCCEED

Thanks boys @GIllybear I want to keep the nice print/pattern carbon fiber gives, I realize it will be hard on such a small item but might be possible. My method will be to lathe each wheel individually and see how well I can keep the structure of the carbon, if that doesn't work I will punch-press a mold in the shape of wheels and cut out layers to fit in the mold exactly, though my edges will probably be shit! I will try and let you guys know how it turns out!! @Xavier Nice! I think Morningwood was known for their CF decks! I wish more deck makers would make some CF decks!
