I personally support the companies that I know will be offer good quality products for reasonable prices, whether it be big or small!

Although, I agree that maybe we shouldn't support the smaller companies as much to some extent, but if we don't support them, then how will they stay in the scene?

If we don't support companies when they're small, they will never grow into a large, successful company! And as you said, we don't know if they'll stay or go, I guess we just have to enjopy them whilst we can, if we support them enough then hopefully they'll stay and really make something of themselves!

Completely agree if people hadn't supported say blackriver when they were in there infancy they wouldn't be hear today

i think the thing to remember is that most 'fb companies' are not in fact companies. i wouldn't call Blosom a company.

most fb 'companies' are run by fingerboarders with a love for it. now, most of the people who do are young. (under adult age)

really there are not that many 'legitimate' fb companies around. the ones that are pay taxes and have their game sorted into a 'business' by churning out decks with equipment.

most homemade deck makers (like myself) do it for the love, but life does get in the way. the main reason being that its not a company. if it was a company it would be a business then if something is a business you have to make it work, if not failure happens....also the bear fact that deck making is very time consuming (when doing it on a homemade scale).

most smaller 'companies' will always have a passion for fingerboarding. just making decks 10 hours each day is not possible for most of us, as it is a hobby and not a business.......so i guess what im getting at is that the smaller companies will always be around, but productivity comes in waves due to time/home/life/work restraints.

I say reward a company for quality or price point. Blosom have an amazing reputation, but are a very small company so I'll buy their stuff. BRR are a big company with a great rep, so I'll buy their stuff. Companies without a good reputation, and who don't spend time developing that rep, I won't support. No point supporting a company for the sake of it.

Anyways, we should support the companies that make 99.99% of their products handmade.
Not china or anything.
And support the bigger companies just as well.

I am very lucky to be sponsored by a company that has been around for some time. Close Up have been known for being one of the first to produce a very respectable complete package featuring a wooden deck, metal trucks with single axles, silicone bushings & washers, urethane wheels with metal cores, griptape, stickers, hardware and instructions.

I have supported both large and small companies. I think small fingerboard brands do deserve a chance if they appear to fit the general expectations and requirements:

Fairly original products (Oak Wheels)
Good quality/craftsmanship (Kulture, Pure)
Fair prices, especially for introductory sales (AceFB tape)

Other brands I've supported: Soldier Bar, Soma, Kinda.

As long as the products meet these general requirements and the company/owner appears to be genuinely interested in fingerboarding, has evidence or indications of future investment and a positive personality, small brands can easily succeed in this market made up of many small scale projects and operations.

and whilst I totally agree all companies should be given a fair chance if they're doing things for the right reasons, saying 'brr wouldn't be where they were had people not supported them' is kind of silly because they had basically no competition in terms of professional fingerboarding

^I know BRR didn't need the support, haha.
Let's take Homewood for example, when they started I'm sure they needed the support!
I'm pretty certain that temple will eventually become much bigger than what it is now! People just need to keep buying decks

well, yea, for any community of companies to grow the community need to buy from them and support, so I agree there

i agrre with blosom and think we should support the smaller companie's if they're legit and sell homemade products.whilst china companies sell cheap product at a cheap price i dont think they should be supported because they're not in it for their love of fingerboarding but the money side of fingerboarding. That said about china companies i guess they are useful to beginner fingerboarders helping them try out a wooden fingerboard cheaply

For the process that people sell China decks, you could easily buy a temple, pure, lovedrug, or a few other decks!
