Subject: Fingerboard mold CAD design Mon Oct 01, 2012 3:52 am
does anyone know how to make a CAD design for a fingerboard mold (metal)? i want to get a metal mold CNC'd but i dont know where to start and i dont want to get a mold from NFBmolds because i am hoping to save some money.

Well you'll need a cnc milling machine along with the sofware to design the shape which is very difficult. Jim from NFB molds uses a prgram called Rhino which is roughly $200 I believe.

Im learning auto CAD in my arch tectual design class. But I got a B in that class so I dont think Im the person who can help you ;/
