I've been fingerboarding for about a year now, and I kid you not, I still cannot consistently kickflip. I get one rarely, and it looks sloppy. I'm sure you're probably thinking, "just practice", well it's hard to practice when you're doing it wrong and you don't know what it is you're doing that's incorrect. I've watched every tutorial on YouTube, and tried all of the different methods, but I can sit for hours and try to kickflip over and over never get it. I see others on YouTube who have been fingerboarding for a year as well, and they're doing many different flips to grinds and doing very well, yet here I am still unable to do the simplest of tricks. If anyone has any advice on what I should do, that would be awesome, because I'm about ready to give up after almost a year of doing the same trick with no success. Also, I'm using a regular Holywood, Flatface G6 wheels, Bollie Trucks, and Riptape, if that matters.

The deck itself doesn't matter, I can kickflip, tre on a td.
I personally would watch taylor rosenbauer's trick tips and preserver, some pick things up quicker than others, just practice have fun.

if a trick has you that bummed on fingerboarding, maybe just try a different trick for a while. Try to learn something else that will get you stoked i rarely do kickflips when I fb anymore and I have tons of fun still! Its not super urgent that you learn it man, I think it took me a year and a half to be able to do them properly. But yeah if a trick has you stressin then come back to it cause frustration sucksssssssssss

If you have a camera, try recording yourself and then slowing it down to see what you're doing wrong and what you're doing right. Helped me alot when I was learning how to treflip.

I have the same problem in skateboarding. I can't do kickflips despite skating for 9 years. But it's fun to me. I don't dwell on something I can't do, I learned a lot of other tricks and come back to kickflips now and then. I honestly couldn't land them for 6 years and now I get them occasionally. If there are local fingerboarders near you, sesh with them. Learn from them and it doesn't need to just be kickflips. If there aren't, you could travel further to an event.

I'm pretty new to fingerboarding as well, only been doing it around a month or so now. Like you, I've watch a whole load of youtube videos on how to kickflip. I can land them occasionally but I'm still working on getting them down consistently.

I still have a bunch of fun just doing ollies onto stuff and over stuff. I also made myself a rail so I can ollie into grinds. Try doing that if you're struggling with kickflips, grinding is a lot of fun and makes a sweet noise very happy

I actually just bought these trucks because the Tech Deck ones are terrible...I was constantly rolling on 3 wheels because I couldn't get the trucks level. With these trucks too, however, there is still a slight wobble, though not as extreme as the TD ones. I'm beginning to wonder if I have a poorly molded deck. I bought it a couple years ago, when Holywood was new, and now I don't even think they make decks anymore? There's no review on unitefingerboards so it makes me wonder if it's time for a new deck...perhaps one of these Blosoms that everyone's been talking about. I suppose I will just move on to other tricks since I can't seem to grasp the kickflip, thanks for the suggestions!

Something I would maybe suggest is rolling back a bit when doing them, and then using that momentum to push your fingers forward, ultimately spinning the deck.

After a while, if you get this down, try not to roll back, and it will look a lot cleaner.

Hope this helps happy

Fingerboarding isn't about skill level its about having fun and supporting the scene it doesn't matter if you are a complete noob but of course its fun to be able to do tricks. But just keep fingerboarding you will get the hang of it happy
