So i recently ordered some Transtint wood dyes to dye veneer. the transtint dyes are a liquid concentrate that you mix with water. I bought red, green, blue, and yellow. At first i only dyed the wood for a couple of hours. what i did was i mixed the dye with water, and poured it into a container so that there was about half of an inch thick of water/dye mix in the container, and i let plies sit in it, being covered by scrap pieces to keep the wood submerged. i found out that it didnt go through the wood fully. So i dyed the wood again but this time i let it sit in the dye for 4 days. (i was dying red and green) but still, the dye did not go through the wood. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas of what i should do? thanks

higher concentration of water maybe, makes the solution thinner and easier to get in the pores? or other way around, make the solution thicker so that the dye is thicker?

That's a lot more money you don't even need to spend man! TJ I use the same method to dye my veneer (using water with my dye) and what I do is pour in how ever much water I want. Usually how much water I pour in is decided on how much veneer I'm dying. What I would suggest is puring in about half an inch of water and then add your dye. Make sure that most of the container is filled with dye instead of water. Try using only one piece to test it out. I hope this makes sense and can help you out haha.
