| You know when you look at a Blackriver quarter pipe or half pipe or any ramp that has curved wood and you see smaller square pieces of wood that are cut and shaped and fitted together to make the curve.......yeah, how do they do that?
What type of wood are they using?
How do they get the wood to curve like that?

| I don't have a Blackriver Ramps with transition, but my guess is that they use flexi-ply for the curve, then use veneer in rectangles to surface the ramp. |

| I think they glue thin sheets of wood together and pressed them together in a curve "mold" . At least that's how I would try to do it haha |

| Plywood, you wet it and it bends I think anyway, But you can use thick veneers

| You can do it with 1-3 layers of regular 0.6mm veneer. Once you glue it on it becomes much stronger than you'd think. |

| I would love to find a tutorial on how to do this since I love making custom ramps and you can't always find the ramp you want or need.
Also where do you buy veneers? If that's okay to ask. |

| Nope, They use wacky wood. The stuff is damn near hard to find. Not sure how blackriver gets it. |

| I think they use bendable multiplex. Haha i was searching for this wood a few hours ago in a wood store they had a piece that was 1.5meter x 2meter for 25euro. That's allot in my opinion because i only need a piece of 50x50cm for my homemade fingerboard park. Not sure what i'm going to do now

| Yeah, thats the stuff! I have used 3mm this masonite`ish material with great success on my mini with extention on both sides but with a vert extention on one of them like the "cheese`n`crackers" mini. Its the stuff that you find in cabinets and stuff from Ikea. Worked great and bended easy! Wheels squeeches nicely on the surface too.. For a quarter one can just laminate a layer of 1mm veneer so that it goes flush with the 1mm thick metal transition. I have cut out 1mm metal for the transition from a cheap carpenter saw with a grinder one time and its perfect..lol.. |
