Hey guys, My name is Nathan Gour, I am 22 and have been fbing for ten years. I recently started filming again and getting back into it and decided to check out how the online scene was. After checking out techdeck.com and realizing it was just as big of a joke as it was years ago I tried to find something good. I used to post on fingerboarderz.net which may be before some of you guys were in the scene. I was professional and had a few pro models for companies like animaux, and sunnyside. Animaux made the first wood boards I had seen back then and i still have my first pro model from them, the quality is nothing like you guys are doing now. I am hoping someone from the old school from the same fb era as me will know anything about what I am talking about haha. I was pro around the time of danny rodriguez, scott hetkowski, larry osbourne, and beau marchant. So hopefully you guys will welcome an old FB veteran into the forum. I am back in the scene and not looking to leave anytime soon. Im working on some footy i have two sets one is webcam crap because i only get to borrow my buddys nice skate cam once and a while and my webcam sucks it makes it hard to tell what trick is what and its awkward how i have to set stuff up to shred so my webcam can see it. But I will have a part in good quality hopefully very soon.

ill definetly lookup where that old animaux pro model is. its a joke compared to these decks you guys ride now. But it was cool just to have real wood under your fingers then, most board companies 6 or 7 years ago made plexi glass boards and our sponsors would send em but we could only glue our trucks on. Sunnyside boards were plexi glass if I remember correctly and they were a big company. I'll track down some OG parts tonight and upload some pics

okay I tracked down my very first pro model it still has a techdeck baseplate glued to it. The holes were drilled from the companie but the screws at that time werent long enough so I think i krazy glued it on. Is there a way to upload pics without signing up for photobucket or some crappy hosting site? I am really to lazy for that haha.

you can see how bad the quality of this board is compared to now. But keep in mind this was tthe first wood deck company in north america at the time. Even though we glued our trucks on we put screws in to make it look more legit.

this is an old case i have, I think it was my grandmas sewing needle case but it fit boards perfectly. the only reason I wanted to show it off was because of the vintage company stickers on it. And the techdeck dude stickers are from a guy named "labeezer" he used to run the techdeck forum and before handboards were out he sent me one to tryout along with a few techdecks a t shirt and some stickers. I was psyched at the time because I didnt and still dont know if techdeck sent anyone a box of goodies. Anyways thats probably enough boring stuff about me lets hear about the new Fb world, obviously I know blackriver/berlinwood and that whole distribution is the biggest thing right now but other then that who are the big companies? And who are the top notch pros other then the blackriver dudes?

i'd say the biggest companies are flatface, no comply, yellowood/ytrucks, and maybe a few more. then Brody Davis and Taylor Rosenbaur shred. pretty much the whole flatface team does.

yea I have seen the flatface guys to, they rip. Everyones parks and boards are so nice compared to mine haha im gonna have to jump on the wood board bandwagon cause im using techdecks still, but i really want to get an affordable wood board it seems like the flatface boards and all that are so expensive! But they look great, nice and wide, great shape and concave and wicked craftmanship. Is there any smaller independent companies with really good boards?
