yeh ive heard alot about wide decks giving more control ? whats your opinions ?
do you guys prefer wide or slim decks ?

wide, helps me flick better and more control, flips dont flip as fast.

The whole mumbo jumbo is a crock. Personally, I think thinner boards feel more realistic and they look nicer in videos. I use all widths, though, so I'm not saying one is better than the other. The only real reason I use 32+mm decks though, is because I love Ytrucks x4.

But basically, it's completely up to the person buying the board. If Ytrucks x3 were made to be exactly like x4, just with thinner width, I'd only be riding 29-31mm decks(with the exception of all of my older brand decks that are like 26-28mm). That's just my little shpeel on this subject, though. Good thread idea by the way. :3

Back in the days people didn't care that much about width. There were regular decks and there were wide decks. However the regular deck from one company could easily be wider than the wide deck from another company.

My point with all this is that the shape plays a big part, and you might prefer wide decks for some shapes and narrow decks for other shapes.

Width is only one of the many aspects, I think. Concave, wheelbase, kick height, kick length, deck weight and deck pop all affect how fast a board flips and how they can be controlled. It really depends on what you like. It's different for everyone's preferences as well as how different companies make them.

I personally enjoy 32mm decks a lot (plus I find BRT 32mms nice and stable) but they are all very different even though they're all 32. For example, a deck that has more concave may feel like it's narrower due to the contact surface, and a deck that is mellower may feel like it's wider.

I personally like 32mm boards due to my favorite shape from my favorite company is 32mm. It depends on the shape. I have a 26mm td that's perfect but I just prefer my 32mm. In the end, it's your preference.

Iv'e never tried a 32mm deck but I think that would be to wide for me.
So for now Im sticking with 30mm and I love it

26.5mm - 30mm is my preferance. Also I have never tried anything above 30mm

I hate 32mm, they flip so slowly and I just hate the feel of them. I currently have two mains, blosom 30.5 and a blosom 26mm, they're both amazing setups
Another of my all time favorites is my 26mm mitt GV though it's incredible!
I have decks and setups of all widths, but 26-30mm are where its at ;D

I've only ever used tech decks and 30mm wooden boards.

Personally, the 26mm TD sucks compared to a 30mm wooden.
