oaks are the best wheels in my opinion, when there new there a little bumpy but they get better over time, less likely to flatspot than hard wheels hard wheels get destroyed outside

I bought a 4CFB Complete and am thinking of replacing the wheels, though I got a quick question...

I don't want to fork out $30 for bearing wheels and I've been looking at the entry-level Bollie wheels. Are there any differences between my current ones and these cheap bollies? They have no bearings so I can't see what the benefit in changing?

Get some regular China bearing or CNC wheels, those completes normally come with bearing wheels, all the China completes I've ever bought did anyway.

Cough 'FBUK' Cough!

I don't rep that company in any way, my setup I have below my avatar is a joke, I do have one of their completes that I do use for outdoor sessions, but I had to reshape it myself for it to even be usable.

Pretty much any bearing wheel is better than a non-bearing or even a metal core wheel. Cheap China wheels are great for entry level into improving your set up. http://www.brokenknucklefingerboards.com/ sells both the cheap boxy China bearing wheels and the nicer CNC China bearing wheels. Both are a reasonable price at under $10 and work well, but will never substitute for the performance of an actual professional fingerboard wheel.

Edit: 2 above posts while writing mine. FBUK is probably cheapest for UK, same wheels from the same China distributor.

There man, regular China bearing wheels, if you look on eBay you'll find CNC ones which are slightly better, drop some Bones Speed Cream into them to make them smoother.

Thanks for your help guys, to double check I went back onto 4CFB website and it claimed the wheels my complete came with were "Classic bearing"

Not sure if buying other cheap bearing wheels will be much of an upgrade to be honest?

Spend the extra bucks for professional wheels you won't regret it.

The way I read your post made it sound like your current set up was non-bearing, and you were asking if switching to a different non-bearing like Bollie would be an improvement.

If your FCFB complete has bearing wheels, then you already have China bearing wheels. The next step up for you would be a set of professional wheels.

you'll know if there's a bearing in the wheel man, you can't miss them.

If you're not too keen on spending £24 for a set of Oaks then just check eBay frequently for FB stuff, I check daily and have snagged a lot of 'pro' level stuff.

(still feel stupid calling FB stuff 'pro' very happy )

It did come across as if he was using non bearing wheels.

Appreciate the help guys, I wasn't sure that my wheels were bearing'd until I checked the website again.

I'll scan Ebay and step my game up soon!

Oaks are super nice man, I dont grudge spending £24 on a set, you'll want to tune those trucks at some point, my mate bought a 4 Corners complete and it had stock TD tuning, which is grim.

Yeah I'll definitely have a look at them. I presume tuning includes the wheels, washers, bushings, and pivot cut material? I can see a few packs online...do you recommend any kits in particular?

Witchraft bushings make even the cheapest of trucks respond nicely, no washers included (or needed for that matter). Get the Y-truck style ones if your 4CFB trucks are the allen key type, or the standard WC bushings if you have a nut kingpin (also, once your nut is as tight or loose as you prefer you should put a dab of superglue on it to hold in place and it works as good as a lock nut).

Some people do offer tuning kits which comes with washers and pivot cups, but they're usually just o rings which I've never had much luck with, I kill o rings in a 30 minute sesh, but Witchcraft bushings are something else, got them on all my 'pro' trucks, nothing compares to them, so responsive, and they spring right back to zero point too instead of staying stuck on whatever side you push down on.

The hype that surrounds Witchcraft bushings is all true!

@Lxium: idk if you have something like ebay small advertisements in your country. if yes, it's def worth to check it for used pro wheels.
Another alternative to china wheels are Diamond Wheels for $11.99. Bearings sound like chinas too, but the wheel itself is not bad at all.

My Skull cnc wheels are quite nice, and they're even better ever since I lubed them with Speed Cream.
