the hype really started when sam and john tried to mimic welcome and you don't have pink foam grip so they just used sk8 grip 2 b cool

i know i used to just use sandpaper on some selfmade decks but with the hype i mean the "i put skategrip on my cowply deck" people

Its easier to follow then to be yourself.

But some people are just having fun riding cowplys with grip.. but yeah there's a lot of following

Honestly skate grip is just really fun to use. It's a big change from using fbs/rip/ any other foam tape out there. It makes fingerboarding more of a challenge which makes it more fun. Isn't fingeboarding supposed to be about fun? Not people arguing over "trends"

I've used skate grip like twice, after going to Jason Bard's house and using his setups with grip. It was so fun and then when you go back to a setup with FBS or anything everything seems so much easier. At least that's how I feel. I like using skate grip, but only sometimes.

yes twhen you use skategrip for a bit then switch back to foam it feels so much more grippy lol

I don't really understand how people like to be more challenged and cut up their fingers at the same time. Not trying to offend but I mean foam just feels nicer and being able to do better tricks is more fun than struggling to do easier tricks. Maybe I'm a little biased

Just give it a shot sometime. I, personally find it fun

yo, i enjoy to have 1 or 2 setups with skategrip, rest foamtape. it's funny to switch between both options.

There is nothing wrong with people using skate grip.
I just don't like people watching Sam and John videos and totally copying their style/tricks/grip jobs.

i was not intending to argue i was just asking...maybe it gets me interested and that's a good point

I think it shows a hesh way of fingerboarding haha personally i think skate grip is sick
