Hey Guys,

I've been fingerboarding since the summer, and I got really confident with it, getting Ollies and kickflips down pretty much most of the time, and got to learning hardflips and stuff, but for some reason, last month, I must've only left it like 2 days max, but when I came back to fingerboard, it's like my hands just forgot what to do, and everytime I pull back to pop, I just hesitate and continuously roll back and forward completely unable to make my middle finger pop the board, so I'm completely back at square one, and it sucks!

Any help would be absolutely amazing, I just want to be able to enjoy fingerboarding again.

Dang that sucks. The only real fix is breaking your middle finger and once it heals you should be ready to shred !

Try not to think about popping too much. You're probably psyching yourself out. It took me a few years to finally get rid of my mental block with popping the board. The way I did it was just by having an object to do some tricks over and slowly start trying to tricks just on flat.

had the same problem...just think about riding not doing the trick

I used to have my entire hand lock up when i tried to pop to do a kickflip, idk how i stopped. I just dont think alot about the trick.

Cheers guys, after seeing a doctor a few months ago, it might be down to my crushed nerve in my arm which has basically left my middle finger completely numb so I can't fingerboard properly. I've developed an alternative style, which is completely unorthodox, but allows me to actually enjoy fingerboarding again!

Fingerboard with your eyes closed. This always helped me.

I used to close my eyes when me and my uncle played games in the garage.
