PostSubject: Fatal Fingerboards YDG HC Review   Fatal Fingerboards YDG HC Review EmptySat Jun 04, 2011 6:50 pm

Hey guys- I've been seshing my Fatal deck for the past month or so, and decided it was time for a review.

About the Company:
Fatal Fingerboards is a small, less known fingerboard company. The Owner, Mike A., sells his decks via youtube and FFI. He's very chill and always responded to my PM's the same day or the next. They currently have two molds out right now, the YDG and the YDG HC. He's working on getting a website right now, but until then you message him for a custom. He can make good split plies and has maannyyyy different colors to choose from.

Shape:
The YDG has almost flat concave and low-medium kicks. The YDG HC(Hardcore) is the same, but with medium-high kicks.

Shipping/Packaging:
Shipping took about week, US to US. But you can't blame the speed of the post office on the company. The deck came in a bubble mailer with a few stickers, it was in a standard plastic baggie with a piece of card on the top reading "Fatal Fingerboards". 10/10

Set-Up:
I had absolutely no trouble setting it up, the holes and countersinks were drilled perfectly. 10/10

Craftmanship:
The kicks are perfectly rounded. The edges are also slightly rounded. The color of the plies seem to fade around the edges, probably due to sanding. There are some very minor gaps between the split-plies, but after a few more weeks of practice I'm sure his split-plies will be perfect. There is also a "ding" in the bottom ply. It's about 9mm long. This could have happened to it while be shipped, so I can't really blameMike for it. Laquer is nice, not super shiny, but still there. 6/10

Performance:
For me, this deck performs like a dream. My preference is low concave, medium kicks- which is basically this deck. The pop is really nice and crisp. I can ollie higher on it than any of my other decks. It's very strong, I can't flex it at all. And, because of my preference, it gives me a ton of control. Whenever I pop it up or ollie, the shape makes it "hug" your fingers in a way, which gives you more control over the board. Overall great performance. 9/10, because its hard for me to give a perfect score in this category.

Overall:
I really like this deck. Its extremely fun to sesh on different things- I would highly suggest you get one! 8/10

If you've the same preference as me, message Mike on Youtube, youtube.com/user/jmkiamdemon , or on FFI, I think his user is MikeA.
YDG is the mellow version, YDG HC has higher kicks.
