| Im just trying to find something new, Ive used all the bigger companies but I think its dumb if I pay 40 dollars for wheels but could get the same quality from a smaller company (I realize that not all good wheels are 40 dollars, Im exaggerating) I like trying to support smaller companies as best i can (If the products are sick) but like i said, just wanting to try something new! |

| All the bigger companies? Which exactly?
Anyway, there's not much talk about Close Up bearing wheels generally but I believe these are the best wheels around. It's not really a small company but they only do 1 model of wheel so I guess in a sense, it could be a small wheel company.
One small company that make good wheels is Cartwheels. They do smaller, softer (but not as soft as urethane), metal core, bearing wheels at a low price. They haven't come out for public release yet though.
If you had not tried No Comply wheels, I think they're probably the best value wheels you can get. They are extremely smooth, much cheaper than Flatface and I prefer them to Flatface. |

| the reason you're paying that price? because making a decent wheel is expensive. some companies offer mass produced 'china' wheels, but they're SHIT. utter SHIT. don't buy them.
close up, are a mid price single bearing wheel. Interesting from what I hear.
the other mid price wheels are no comply, and they're AMAZING. beyond smooth, super nice to ride, long lasting, amazing shape, and perfect. Especially if you get the duals, I hear they're ridiculously good. I had 2 sets of roll 9s, and they're some of my favourite wheels. The minis they do are also mega mega nice. |

| Bollie wheels made of urethane? what? I'm pretty sure that bollie wheels are winklers without bearings. If you want urethane wheels get some oaks or close ups.

Whats your favorite wheel you've ridin Xi? Alright then. Close Up bearing wheels are my favourite wheels. I'd say the same thing even if I wasn't sponsored by them, they're fucking awesome. If you like Oak wheels then I would highly recommend trying Close Up bearing wheels. Close Up were the first to make urethane fingerboard wheels (similar to Oak wheels) but they have a much nicer shape for my preference. As Oak wheels have centralised bearings and older models were skinny, it made the truck axles stick out and would damage the surface of what you are skating on. With Close Up wheels, I put a tiny piece of pivot cup on the axle and it aligns the wheel perfectly with the axle so it doesn't damage any surfaces. One other bigger company you haven't mentioned is Substance. They do good wheels but are some of the most expensive wheels in the market. |
