First off, I used to use mini washers from Redemption with my trucks, but those ended up ripping my top bushing. Now I have No Comply SS bushings, and after the second day of having them, my bottom bushings ripped. Am I doing something wrong? Or do I just have bad luck? I tighten them without having to use force, so I don't think I over-tighten them.

1. You might be tightening them up too much.
2. If they're loose, try them with crown kingpin trucks
3. This belongs in the quick questions thread.

Crunchy is right... This should be in the quick questions thread.

Next time don't make a whole post about it?

If you want you can move it over there and I can lock this up for you. happy

I didn't think it needed to be in the quick questions thread, but you're the mod haha, you can lock it if you think it belongs in the other thread. happy
And @Crunchy, I don't think I'm over-tightening them, cuz' I'm not even using force when tightening the nut as I said in my first post. And I don't think I've heard of Crown kingpins?

It's these kingpins that don't use nuts. Instead, you use an allen key to screw the kingpin itself.

Are you riding soft bushings?
If so, try getting some thats a little harder and then don't tighten as much.

My Close Up bushings acted a bit like on your pic, but i switched them out before they broke.

The only reason I tightened them so much is because the nut kept on getting loose, and my trucks just flopped back and forth, instead of actually turning when I had the nut loose.

I use these with my Northwoods. Since I switched to these instead of the standard, I've had no problems whatsoever with my bushings or over/under tightening. Don't have to worry about losing nuts, and they stay exactly the way you leave them pretty much. Don't have to keep tightening them or anything. Mine come loose after a week or so, but other than that once a week, I never have to mess with them. They're very convenient

I wanted to try teflon's, but I heard they were better for tighter trucks, and I ride pretty loose.

I had a pair of inverted kingpins, but they didn't screw in.

And I ran out of sort glue haha

Yea. Inverted kingpins are cool. No Comply sells some with a bit bigger thread, so they will screw in better.

I don't ride tight trucks haha, the nut is far down, but they are actually really loose.

yeh, no matter how tight you do the nut, the truck will still be loose, if you use super soft bushings.

if you do them too tight then it will simply "pinch" it and it will just break, get some flatface Teflon bushings there quite good! tongue

Ideally, they'd be ridden loose enough that the nut top, will be right at the edge of the top of the kingpin, and drop a bit of super glue to hold it in place.

The SS bushings are really just for loose riding, when you ride tight trucks, the picture shows exactly what happens

the only ones that don't are the hards.. I had a set of the mediums SUPER loose on a set of BRRs, used them for like 20 minutes in a day and they were ripped by the next day.
