So, I got a long message from Nate earlier (FFI admin) explaining the situation. Here's a summary.

The server hit high traffic, they pulled the site down without warning Nate or anything like that, and threatened to delete all the data there too. Everything is being backed up now, but there will be a short wait until a new host is found. Unfortunately no FFI in this time, but the admins are working really hard to get everything back up. Advertisers will be reimbursed for lost advertising time, so no worries there. If you've got any questions you can drop an email to njthomps65@gmail.com .

Hopefully Nate will check this thread too, as I told him about it, so if you have small questions or anything like that maybe he'll be around to answer them. Either way, at least we now know for deffs what it was, and can hope FFI is back soon!

Haha no, the government did not shut down FFI. Our LAME host is planning to though. I got all the files and databases backed up before they deleted anything, so there should be nothing missing. Including Colin's 1600 messages haha. Next step, lining up a VPS so that FFI never has traffic issues again. Hope to have FFI back online in a few days. I'll keep everyone updated.

FFI is back online! The host unsuspended the account. But based on their track record, I have no idea how long that will last. Who knows how long it is before they randomly suspend FFI again and threaten to delete everything. I cannot deal with that level of uncertainty so I purchased a Virtual Private Server for FFI and I will be transferring everything over to that in the coming week. That should make FFI a ton more reliable and avoid all the traffic issues that people sometimes encountered.

Thanks everyone for you patience and thanks Kerry for help spreading the word. I have to admit, I thought FFI would be offline for much longer than this. Which is why I wanted to keep everyone updated as much as possible. Please spread the word FFI is back!
