Ok, so I found one of my really old camera's yesterday, and I'm really confused as to how people get the footage from the tape onto a computer. Iirc Hvx's use tape, so if anyone has one please inform me how to convert it.

What you will probly have to do is run it though a capture process in a video editing software, if you don't have a firewire port on your camera you might have to either find a adaptor, OR find a converter that converts tape data into a firewire, then you capture the video through the video editing software and edit it from there. Atleast thats how i used to do it back when i had my video editing class in high school.

If your using FinalCut than you connect it to your computer with a firewire and go to capture in the top bar somewhere and just play the footage on your camera and a little play box will come up in FinalCut and you choose how to split it up by pressing capture when you want that as clips if thats understandable haha
