| So, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm just doing fingerboarding wrong? I thought fbs was supposed to last AGES, mine just ripped a hole in the tail after 2 months of use. Same place all my tape has ripped... ex would obviously die quickly, but rip that I used (got it start of 2009) lasted me 8 months. Am I just doing fingerboarding wrong, or does tape not last?
I thought fbs would last, but, no, IMO its a horrible tape. Takes forever to wear in, then wears out quickly, now mine is a thin, gripless sheet that gets soaked in sweat after like 5 minutes. Gonna put foamy greatness on my deck tomorrow. Was gonna wait til I got my new panic, but now my fbs is fucked and I don't want the horrible experience of wearing in fbs again.
Seriously though, I've never heard anyone else have fbs die this quickly.. am I doing it wrong? It does make me wonder.. |

| yeah that is weird Kerry. It does seem to wear a little faster, but I never heard of it wearing that quick. Not to mention it's even more odd that it is taking long to wear in. This is intriguing I know theres no way that your fingerboarding wrong so no worries there. But I am kind curious to the kind of pressure you apply to your deck? light or hard? I wonder if that would create such an issue? Great topic it needs some more insight. |

| ive had 2 different types of fbs though....well their both fbs tape, but one is really good, and more grippy and has more pores and is great, and ive had another type that seems more rubbery? if that makes sense....kinda like an eraser, but one that rips and wears quickly..... just different batches that are slightly different....if we all were not so anal with everything we wouldn't notice...or i wouldn't  |

| pressing down too hard? I don't imagine I am.. My tape now feels like a cross between a soggy bath sponge and fish skin. Foamy greatness is going on tonight, here's hoping it lasts better! I'll keep the masking tape idea in mind, but it doesn't solve the fact that there's a hole in the tape, haha XD Its weird how some batches are different.. my old FBS I had on my no co CP mold and my BW09 lasted wayyyy better than this stuff and wasn't horrible to wear in like this stuff was. I often wonder maybe tapes wear out faster for me as I finger tip a lot, maybe flat fingers wear less? : o |

Yes the tape comes in two types theirs the porous material, the one with holes (best) and theirs the rubber material, its less grippy ( okay) So the batches are different because when the fingerboard company makes an order the factory just sends what they have on hand. (unless you call them fools and make requests ) |

| i had some and i think it ripped after like a month and half but i have had that problem but mostly if you cut a line in your grip or any design it peels up right there with all tapes except 4corner tape |

| idk why sometimes it lasts longer than others, but 2/3 months is a fairly good amount of time for tape to last. It probably comes down to the amount of fbing you do/ what you do it on. I would imagine concrete ledges are alot harsher on your tape than other stuff when you miss tricks. Anyway tape doesnt last forever, likewise with skate shoes or bwnm graphics or whatever |
