| Got my Jace wheels in the mail yesterday! Just got them set up: Boulala Bamboo W1 29x102 deck Riptape - 2012 normal version China wides with mismatching colours & China screws Soldier Bar bushings & washers Jace Simple shape single bearing wheels Redemption dual microwashers on each axle and a sticker job to match the setup! The blank bamboo deck was too plain, hence the stickers and trucks. |

| hmmmm....yeah i think i can feel the benefits...ive only ridden it for about an hour or so though, and sitting here at the cpu.... to me it seems like everything backside is easy. you can really whip it about and it IS easy to land ceratain tricks on......treflips just flip and catch everytime.......but frontside??? well.......its difficult (for me) to do frontsideflips, hards etc etc.....but ive only got regular brts on it.....im sure it will ride better with wide ones honestly i think 30.5 is a better all rounder....unless you can setup 32.5 with wide trucks to suit thats only my opinion though....dont take it as fable. |

| Awesome shaping job! I personally would have done it a bit different but I love how you've done the bases.
@Ross I honestly don't get the appeal of 30.5mm decks. Until recently, 30.5mm is directly half way between the 2 standard widths of 29mm and 32mm trucks that are widely available. If they trucks don't come close to the deck, the board will ride weird.
But now, Woodywood Fvcker trucks have been released and they have got 29, 30, 31 and 32mm trucks so I reckon the Blosom decks would be awesome with a 30mm set of Fvckers.
I also really love my 33.5mm Soma Poolshape with my really old 33mm TD trucks.
Can't wait for Close Up Gen 5, supposedly being released this month! |

iirc it's because winklers + brts have a width of 30.5mm Correct me if I'm wrong though Ross! |

hmmm. all opinions taken i think the 'standard' these days is at least 30mm though. (for decks) anything under that is just too skinny by today's standards. of course you will have your select few sticking to thinner decks, but times change. and the future standard will be 32mm IMO. i think theirs a way to go yet though....30+ decks will all have their place as the amount of fingerboarders 'outside' the scene will stick to 30mmish...as they are a standard with china wide trucks also its a smart move by BRR. now everyone needs wide trucks. clever move indeed. but one for the better i think. what you say about the woodywoods is true also, i know BRT's are 28mm width but once you get the wheels on your around the 30mm width.....also there are the micro washers which Ive been using for time.... also it goes to how you like your setup...not everyone likes their wheels to be exactly at the edge of the board...some like the hangars slightly over, or slightly under or in between. i think 30.5 is a good medium....just look at every other company making decks in 30.5mm these days....but yeah its all preference....im already working on the future boards, and i dont think anything under 30.5mm will have its place....come to think of it i think 30.5mm wont be produced much either.... but everyone is different i guess. also ive been watching your close up advert/avatar in your sig for a bit now, i swear i can see close up gen 5 appear in their almost subliminal. and Danny, TBH i dont really know??? when i made 30.5mm way back when, i did it to be different and to make a slightly wider deck than the 29/30mm 'norm'...but i think 30.5mm was a good width and still is. (for decks) on another note, i also guess to which camp you belong too. like i said its a very clever move by BRR. and you know everyone is gonna want a wide BW and wide BRTs....but what about the YW/Ys camp for example? i dont know what they have in the pipeline, but im sure 30mm will always be around.....for a couple years yet..... woodywoods fvckers would take over, they would sell by the bucket load....but if you can get me a set or 3 be my guest ...or put the link up. |
