| a) moved to fb discussion.
b) i suggest buying from fingerboarder made companies, not 4c and star, they're mass produced crap imo.
c) go read the 'new to fingerboarding guide' on unitefingerboarding.com , I think it'll help you a lot. There are many great cheap options out there, I'd recommend a cheap deck and some wide trucks for the moment, that's gonna cost around $20. just stick with tech deck wheels until you get money for a decent set of wheels - no comply or flatface are great wheels at good prices.
d) my suggestions for cheap decks? Well, there are loads, but perhaps Redemption offer one of the best value for money decks, certainly for beginners. others can chime in with their own ideas. Redemption decks also come with tape, which means all you then need is trucks. You can pick up really cheap wide trucks at fingersized.com or flatfacefingerboards.com |

If your new, don't. The last thing you want to do is inest money in something you might not enjoy as much as you thought you would. Personally, my first board was one of those $15 china completes from eBay. And I loved that bord sooo much. Now I'm not telling you to go buy one, I'm just saying that they make great boards if your brand new. But if you want to get a really good board, do what Kerry said. Buy a redemption, or a pure, or any other deck that includes tape. And get some china wides from somewhere and just use tech deck wheels until you can afford pretty good wheels. |

I love the fast and good responses, and while I was reading all of your responses and tips I was thinking to get the oneway fingerboards because I saw a couple of reviews and they look well made, and the votes, I'm not sure if they are China products so i'll do a couple of more research until I buy.
thank you for helping me out and i'm sure I'll Come back to this fourm! |

| Basically, don't buy a China setup, they're shit.
If I were you I'd go for: Temple Deck - PM Ryan Marshant on here, $13 + they're incredible. Dump trucks from flatface - $4
That cones to $17, keep the left over $8 and save up some more, then buy jace wheels when they're in stock. Iirc, they're about $18? |

| id not suguest a pure to a newb - the pure shape is verry mellow. infact - too mellow for my taste as i still suck sort of at fingerboarding. i have much better time using medium kicks and concave - like the zink or temple decks have. they are realley good for what i do. |

Agree with Danny, I start Fingerboarding with china complete, they are shit, we can't use the deck properly. if you want to buy cheap and best decks , go for Temple, lovedrug and pure. they are the best and cheap decks ever. I recommend these decks to buy Temple Deck- $13 shipped Pure deck - $13 shipped and love drug -$13 shipped. http://www.freewebstore.org/lovedrugstore/storepage1132743.aspxyou can pm BrianC for the Pure custom and RyanMarshment for Temple Custom deck. you can buy cheap china trucks , g6d wheels from flatface, Fusion or Fingersized, it depends where do you live. if you live in uk you can buy from fusion Distribution or Fingersized. fusiondistribution.co.uk its cheap if you buy from Fingersized http://www.fingersized.com/Kerry will throw some extras. I recommend No comply Rolls 9 wheels and china trucks if you are beginner of wooden fingerboard. |

| Those boards you've listed are all on eBay. I've seen them before. As already said, 4Cfb and Star are mass produced Chinese decks that have been branded and priced up.
I will be writing a post on Fingerboard Network in the coming week or so about low budget fingerboard setups. The main things to upgrade would be the (wood) deck, (soft foamy) tape and (bearing) wheels. Here are some options for you to consider...
Tech Deck Wood Competition Series G2 (aka. Wooden Concave) - About $8 for a complete but you need to upgrade with other parts to make it good - Deck is good and is 26mm but you should use some normal trucks, some other bearing wheels and different tape because the tape included does not fit perfectly.
Tech Deck Expert Sk8 - $15 for a complete - Low budget beginner setup with a 30mm wooden graphic deck, foam tape, trucks with much better tuning than standard TD trucks and bearing wheels. Some minor issues regarding performance but pretty good for the low price.
Close Up G4 - €15 for a complete @ Inexp (not inc shipping) - 27mm wooden graphic deck, wide single axle coloured trucks with good tuning and soft urethane metal core wheels (better than non-bearing wheels but not as good as bearing wheels) and has foam tape and griptape. You can upgrade this easily with Close Up bearing wheels (only €14.90) or a G5 deck (only €9 for the deck, tape and mini stickers).
Close Up G5 - €9 for the deck, tape and mini stickers - very awesome deck for its low price with a choice of different colours and 2 shapes: low concave and high concave. You can easily upgrade this with some standard wide trucks and some wheels.
Pure Fingerboards deck - $13 for the deck, tape, pivot cups, pin badge + shipping. Awesome bargain. You can easily put some wide trucks, tuning and wheels on it.
For bearing wheels, I think the best 2 options are No Comply and Close Up. No Comply have great value bearing wheels and perform great too. I have 3 different models of No Comply wheels and have had no problems with any set, they sometimes go to $15 for a set in a sale. Close Up wheels are my favourite wheels because of their soft grippy feel and are smooth with the bearings and they're €14.90 a set. I have 7 sets of Close Up bearing wheels.
For trucks, don't worry about getting super expensive trucks. Standard 29mm trucks are a few dollars each, sometimes with bushings and washers. Upgrading the washers will improve the feel of the board a bit.
The Riptape tuning kit is also great for beginners and advanced fingerboarders. The 3 sheets of tape are pretty good and you get a very good set of bushings and washers for your trucks. There are also some small stickers to stick on your decks.
Shitting dick nipples. I wanted to type this on Fingerboard Network but my fingers just went mental. Anyway, I'm going to go skateboard. I'll check this later if you have any questions. |
