I've seen food inc. But you don't need to see it to know how animals are treated. Battery hens? It's fucking disgusting. I'd actually prefer for those hens to be put out if their misery, because their life is bullshit when they're forced to live in those conditions. I hate eating meat, because I know where it comes from. I'll never be a vegetarian because meat still tastes good and you kind of need it to retain a healthy diet. We do buy free range products though, I'd hate to eat an egg from hens in such bad conditions.
Speaking of which, I've been talking my mum into buying me three chickens, although I still really want a pig. I'll probably get one when I get my own house, probably at the age of 68 at this rate.

Danny, chickens are really fun and fairly easy to keep up i used to have 7. No eggs taste better than the ones from your own hens
