1. got any tips?
2. if i do it will the turn a brass colour where i file ?
3. how do i paint them ? like is it just paint and then clear coat?
4. have you guys got any pics of you r shaped trucks?

You said you don't have enough money for y's or brt's yet, have you seen chemistry trucks? There shaped trucks made by Sean Witman. He has 28mm($18) and 32mm($20).The 32mm ones also feature bushings and locknuts.

im not going into this haha just an opinion

just file around the hanger if you want to paint them use nail products , much better

The solution is not always buying stuff. Fingerboarding needs way more DIY, cause then the companies will have to step up their game. $20 for a pair of china trucks is insane, even though they are shaped.


I haven't shaped my own trucks, but as you probably know, the idea is to make the hanger thinner so that it can go inside the wheel without touching anything else than the bearing.

Northwoods sells some shaped trucks they call Flux. I like their look:

Honestly i think these would be the best to shape. They are cheap and they are decent trucks. And if you want to put paint on them just get some sally hansons nail strips and there you go. I was wanting to do this and make a fingerboard company but i found out someone had used this idea already.

There are 3 methods to shape trucks.

1. Using files
2. Fine Sandpaper
3. Using a drill as a lathe. You put the hanger in the part for the drill bit, Turn it on and file away at the trucks to make it circle.

shaped some td wide trucks and they turned out okay tell me what you think and how i can improve them
