hack: you can fit dual bearing wheels (or at least ff g7.1's) on brts by using... the new/smaller ytrucks auto lock nuts! you cant get the screw on the axle as much as you would want to, they just barely lock on.. but ive been doing this for nearly a week now and the screws havnt fallen off or un-tightened themselves cheers

I ride my stripped ones with them and have had no issues so far cheers

Hacks! (that may or may not be useless or obvious)
1. Grip is dirty? Blue tac/packing tape/kneaded erasers work great at cleaning the dust off your grip.
2. No money for soft bushings? Make some using an 1/8 inch hole puncher and a silicone wristband.
3. Don't have a file to grip your deck? Scissors work great! And if you're even that desperate anything round will work at cutting.
4. Want smoother wheels? Clean them and then re-lubricate.
5. Want tougher fingers? Use skate grip!
6. Want grippy dual duro wheels? Wrap your wheels in urethane tubing or some old earbuds.

Without the wheels on, Put foam grip between the axle and a normal wheel nut (tech deck) and screw it on. This will get the sticky/foam in the inside of the nut. Peel off the extra grip left around the wheel nut and now you have auto-locking nuts that wont come off or loosen when you ride.

Does it matter what kind of tape you use? I know china tape always works due to how thin it is and how easily it cuts. Thicker tapes like the creamy goo one don't seem to work as well.

Ive done it with all types of tape and seems to work fine. The thicker tape just sometimes doesn't work the first time so you have to try until the foam gets up inside the nut.

Shoot I thought it was the screwdriver side you were suppose to use.

Ah ok so the trick is to get the foam to wrap inside of the nut.

glad to see some people sharing interesting ideas!

hack: want to refinish a deck but dont have lacquer? use packaging tape! slides well, gives your deck a nice glossy look, and it preserves the bottom if youre into keeping your deck looking pristine! just make sure to finely sand it so it doesnt start to peel off. it's better than nothing! and yes i know, you can always buy lacquer for fairly cheap, unless youre me and buy the wrong kind at first hmm

to cut grip tape, instead of using a file or scissors, use the handle of a ratchet wrench, it turns out perfect everytime afro

Edit: i was at mikes house and did not have access to either of the tools so i used a sharp pocket knife and it worked fabulous!!

Dear god the packing tape one! I did that all the time when I was doing paper graphics. Imo still looks better than the lacquer jobs I've ever done and you don't have to worry about staining the damn graphic with clear coat.

Tiny hack: Nail polish works great at painting trucks.

Using the nut side will make the hole big enough for the screw and it always makes a perfect circle! Using a paperclip wont make a big enough hole and the tape might overlap the screws

I see alot of people ask what's the best thing to use to change grip/get off old sticky grip. Wd-40 works great and isn't as harsh as some ideas I've seen like nail polish remover/rubbing alcohol. Plus you can't tell me there ain't a can sitting in your garage either you own or your parents, win win!!!

I use duct tape to get off residue.. Put q=a piece on top of your deck and keep ripping it on an off until all residue is gone.

Here's another one for if you want silver screws:
Take a normal tech deck screw and sand the top of it just a little bit to get any black paint off! Great for if you wan a silver screw to put in the front to quickly know what is your nose and what is your tail
