Yaaaah i'm starting up making decks under the name of Private Decks, I'm not just doing this to make money.. I'm doing it because I love fingerboarding and I want to test myself and see what I can do! Yeah so i'm hoping to be able to sell decks for around £10 but I will decide a final price sometime soon! For a while it will just be non - graphic decks and then after a while I hope to bring out graphic decks! Comment what you think and if you want any info! xD

Jordann.. I have been fingerboarding for around 10 years now, and back when i started we had to make everything we used, cus you couldn't buy anything but Tech Deck stuff, or if you could it was too expensive.

Anyway, my point is that i have been making decks, ramps and other stuff on and off for almost 10 years.
3 months ago i got a good mold and started making decks again after a 3 year break. They are still far from perfect.

You should focus much more on the fun of fingerskating and making stuff to fingerskate, instead of using your energy on some company that won't make it.

unlegit reason being you have never made a deck before and is looking for equipment so until you have had experience I would nveer consider buying a deck

Im getting my gator mold! Peter im very good with my hands! So this will be simple enough I would say :/

Here is what you need:
- A mold. Can be home made or made by a machinist.
- Vice.
- Veneer. Maple and others.
- Glue. Try some different glues so you can find a good one.
- Electric sander. To sand the decks.
- Drillpress. To drill accurate holes. (you don't need it if you get a $200 CNC mold).
- Lacquer.

Cut your veneer in a size that suits you, remember to cut it so you have both plies with grains going with the length (x) and plies with grains going with the width (y).
Put glue on the plies and arrange them like this:

Put the mold in the vice and put a good ammount of pressure on it. Leave it till the glue has cured.
Take out your molded deck. Draw an outline of the shape on it and sand it.
Drill holes.
Sand it with fine sand paper to make a great finish.
Lacquer.

Jordan a gator mold is not the answer, honestly I would rather see you make a homemade bondo mold then just Gator mold off ebay!

Agreed man. I actually have a gator mold, that i got for christmas. It's great for making some fun homemade decks, but the concave is way to intense and nobody will buy from you.

didnt you make decks james?

I've tried it. It was time consuming, so I couldn't be bothered with it.

Judging from your first post, it did seem like you were starting a company, why else have a name for your decks?

First of all, a Gator mold shouldn't be used to make decks if you're trying to start a company. Why? It's a generic mold that can be found on ebay. Nothing special would be created by this mold. Now if you're making decks for fun and yourself, then go ahead if you really want to. I'd recommend canceling your order if it's not too late, if you are not.

Second, you're only 12 years old. If you want to make high quality decks that people will buy, you will need a lot of money, which at your age, will be hard to get. You'll have to buy tons supplies and tools, which can be costly, depending on what you actually get. You will also need lots of practice making decks, until you really get high quality decks made, which could take a long time. For example, Blosom made decks for a year, before he felt that he could sell his decks.

I'm not trying to be negative, I just want to inform you about this, and make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. If you truly want to make decks, then by all means go ahead, no ones stopping you, just make sure you do it correctly.
