PostSubject: help me to skate!   help me to skate! EmptyTue Apr 03, 2012 11:50 pm

So, I called my local park for poops and giggles to see if i could get a job as a skate instructor there.
The guy tells me to go there tomorrow so he can see what I can do.
I'm like super nervous b/c I really want this job! I've always been a good skate teacher, and a good amount of those i tech usually end up getting better than myself. I know im right for the job.
Problem is, I have a bit of trouble with some of the very basics. I always have.
For Example, I cant pop shuvit or backside 180. However, I can switch pop perfectly, and switch back 180 really nice.
I cant tre, but i can nollie tre... But, I've even taught people how to tre flip, and they do em perfectly.
so i dont know what imma do if he tells me to do a simple pop shvit :p
Ive been to the park twice only, so I dont have all that much flow there.

tips?

It's probably best to be a skate wzrd to teach others.

The skateboarder who is supposedly going to give advice to other skateboarders is asking for advice himself.

Is it bad to ask for advice if you are not completely confident on something? I'm pretty sure someone whose been skating for 8 years can teach a whole bunch to a kid whose been skating for a month.
I'm not nervous about actually teaching kids, because like I've said, I've taught kids how to tre, and I can't do them.
I'm jist nervous about the "interview" that I have to skate in. It's hard for me to do tricks under that sort of pressure.

Thanks Noel and Ironfingers! I'll see how it plays out today.

EDIT
i got the job! happy

It's probably best to be confident and have a buttload of tricks in your swag bag.

Who want's to learn a trick from someone that can't do it?
