You're 15, thats good. No offense though, i dont believe you were around to see the sudden increase of prices. Brr and Bw were expensive/overpriced. No one is going to argue quality. Thats the not issue here. Its price. When good decks were at most 8-10 bucks.. 30-40 is a lot for a deck. 7 bucks for a complete, 130 bucks is expensive.
Youre right. I do not have to buy from Brr. I dont. However i am only one man while thousands others welcome higher prices. The more people are willing to pay for insane prices under the guise of "support"... companies will abuse this, tell you "time went into it" when at the end of the day the fact reminds. Out of the goodness of your heart, you pay whatever price. Where is the goodness of their hearts to not price these items so high?
@Bakko- Setups dont have to be like that? Totally would fool me if looking in setups!
nah, I wasn't there. I do know their molds back then were way less consistent, and (I think) were made from bondo molds. Now molds are made of CNC and their is more quality control. I mean, if you want a deck that is 5$ you could get a homemade deck, which would be about the same quality as a years ago. I know you don't wanna talk about quality, but "good decks" from a few years ago were good relatively, in comparison to the other decks at the time. But the option of the kind of decks you like is still there. Also, now there are graphics, which can drive up the price too. I know a couple years ago there weren't graphics on par with what Berlin Wood is doing now. But anyways, it all just depends on what you want to buy. And speaking on wheels and trucks, I know that the wheels and trucks were made in china back then, and you can still get wheels and trucks from china that are the same price. Most people find that other wheels are higher quality though, and with quality comes price. And one more thing, if your so for super low prices, why were bubbles sold for $32 and kinda decks for $25? I mean I know Todd probably had more control over the price of kinda, but that is way off of the price that you consider fair... ($7). I mean no hate, I think both of those were good prices, but you seem to think differently. |

| You are so very stuck on quality when i said quality is not the issue. You can say all you want about the quality, say god made the decks, or Jesus. THAT guy was a carpenter. Imagine his work? Holy shit. < id like to see this in a quote. But right. It does not change the fact that many of the items out now are way more expensive than they need or could be. I'll address some things. - Quote :

Wrong. Vegas Fingerboards, and many others from 2001-2004 had graphic decks for around 7-9 bucks a deck. A blank deck was about 5-7 bucks. Also, yes there is. There are companies doing A LOT with graphics. But if everyone want to put BW and BRR as the gods of this hobby, no other company need really do much. - Quote :

Thats nice. This doesnt mean a deck should be over 30 bucks, at best. Five dollars a ply, plus glue and whatnot. Jacob Piller had decks, good decks, with custom graphics, for 15 bucks. - Quote :

Ask Mike why Bubbles were sold for 32 bucks. Lets get something straight. There are some items i feel should be a certain price.. such as decks. It would be wonderful if the deck range were 20-30, preferably lower 20s. Wheels have a little more room for prices by more than 35 is crazy. In the 50s is wow. Like... wow. Yes, time goes into it but again.. that whole "love for the sport" and what not. It seems the consumers hike up certain items far beyond what they should. Like ledges and stuff. Things everyone else makes. Etc. It boils down to who is really giving more. The builder or the person buying. |

| Then don't "waste" your money on one. If you're happy with your cement obstacle, then use it. |

^Once again, this. Put your handbags down, buy what the hell you want and stop being whiney and bitchy just because other people don't mind spending money. Don't understand why this hasn't died already... This is SeamusMcFlurry. Didn't realise my wife had left herself logged in. |
