This is part of the learning process- muscle memory. The only thing I can recommend is keep practicing, and once you get them down, style comes next.

Hmmmm....
Try using the tips of your fingers more and making a wave-type motion with your wrist when you pop?

Don't worry dude. I went through this for a while as well. It's relally just practice, nothing else to it. After a while it'll never give you a problem again

Try to relax your arm more, if you're struggling to pop you might be tensing your arm or hand a bit?

My hand sometimes freezes up on heels for some reason Think it's because i tense my fingers when i do it.

I have days where I can't seem to land anything. I think it's normal to fall into ruts with accessing that muscle memory.
I agree with most of these comments, but I'd also like to add that maybe you should try a deck with high kicks (if you're not already). My go to set ups all have low to med kicks, but I've found that when I use my high kick decks that everything seems easier. I'd also recommend trying shorter decks too, if my index finger has less room to move around, it's makes catching the board easier.

just try to relax and be comfotible when you fingerboard. If your tables way to high or if your fingerboarding on the floor your just not gonna have a good time. that simple.

no one has suggested this yet. ollie up the side of your leg and get your fingers into positions then after i while you will get used to popping the deck on your leg and be able to do it on flat land.

Yeah this is a good thing to try. I don't know if any old school guys remember but this is what they showed you in the really old Tech Deck instructional videos.

fingers of fury was one of my all time favorite videos. Great memories. This used to happen to me all the time on nollie tricks, its kind of a mental block more than anything. Try not to think about it happening to you or focusing on it. Just do your ollies and zone out.

Here's a video I made a few weeks back to teach my friend how to ollie. Sorry about the horrible tutorial, but you'll get the idea. I learned to ollie by moving fakie really fast and popping the board back so you can carry it up with your hand. It's kind of a "cheating" method, but once you get this, you can progress to regular ollies. This method should strengthen your middle finger. Just make sure that when you go onto other tricks, you don't pull your fakie ollies too much. I do it occasionally on fakie 5-0s and it looks pretty bad.
