| I just got into it recently like a couple of months and I love it. I started out using my friends decks (One of them plays in current tournements and the other used to play when Birds of Paradise was legal, so all of his cards are retarded good but all not legal) and then I finally ponied up 20 USD for a deck builder's kit. Had enough for four decks in there so I made 3 and let my friend who got into it after me make his own with the cards I didn't use. I did just buy a Primordial Hydra to fill out my main deck. My other 2 are okay I just need to refine them and learn how to play them more effectively. |

you went on about how cards weren't legal then bought an non standard legal hydra? odd. I think standard is most fun to play personally - but to each their own birds of paradise though.. oof, what a card. though sylvan caryatid is pretty epic for the 1 extra mana being a 0,3 hexproof defender with birds' ability. I miss primordial a bit, it's an amazing card and was gutted when it went out. BUT I have a playset of kalonian hydra in my deck and that was soooo worth the large chunk of money to get them all here's the deck if you're interested : http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/green-blue-and-blackjacks/ |

| Kerry I learned to play MtG with non legal cards for tournements and then I bought a 2014 Deck builder's kit. I only really want to play casually so legality for me isn't much of an issue as long as it's not a ridiculous deck that wins in 3 turns type thing. I play for fun, not much else. |

| I opened a Stormbreath Dragon, and a Thoughtseize on the train back from fnm the other week. I was standing on my own with a massive grin on my face, with people judging me. |

| Well i think that's a bit crazy too! I've never personally spent an extortionate amount on an fb. But at least expensive fb's are usually hand crafted by someone to a high level.
These cards are made for pence/cents in a factory in China by the shed load. |

| That's the thing Simon. They are made in controlled amounts. People are not paying for the card, but for the concept. People pay for video game aswell, but those can just be pirated. |
