Why so cheap on the decks? They're worth more than $8-10. Especially splits

Aliens come from space daily to give him special plys from the far reaches of the galaxy.

I have been steadily collecting the proper tools and focusing on improving my methods for making decks. While they have come a long way (even from stock 1 till now) they are still made in a hand shaped Bondo mold and drilled/traced with paper stencils. Knowing the time and money that has gone into the development of more established companies, I cant yet justify selling my decks in a higher price bracket. When I get my aluminum mold made the price will increase slightly but still remain on the cheaper side. I enjoy deck making as much as fingerboarding itself. If I can support the scene with competetively priced decks and have a self sustaining hobby then I'm a happy camper.

Level Up Fingerboards is taking a break to Level Up!

I will divide the information of this post into both a Long and Short version (read on according to your attention span or interest in my deck company )

Long: I would like to start off by saying thank you to everyone on the forum here for your encouragement and constructive criticism regarding my decks. It has been a very welcoming environment for my new company and I have gained a lot of great information and techniques to further improve my deck making ability and overall quality. I believe that my craftsmanship and product expectations have grown past my current ability to create Bondo Molds, digital templates, and printable stencils. Too much of my time is spent trying to correct or compensate for the inaccuracies in these methods instead of actually furthering improvements on my decks. While I have received a lot of positive feedback and praise for my decks, it has also come to my attention that there have been some flaws in decks purchased by a few customers. To correct these flaws at the source I will be purchasing a custom NFB Aluminum Mold to press and shape my decks with greater precision. My Bondo Molds will be shelved and deck production has stopped until I can produce a consistently accurate deck with the new mold. In the meantime, I plan to continue improving other aspects of my company while waiting for my mold to arrive.

Short: I'm no longer making decks from either of my Bondo molds because I am ordering a Custom NFB Aluminum Mold. I'm tired of the trial and error in my DIY molds, stencils, and digital templates. A few of my decks had some flaws and were sold to customers. I do not want to put out shoddy decks so I'm taking a break from making them until I am happy with the improvements I have planned.

Regardless of which version you read, I thank you for your time and interest in Level Up Fingerboards. Decks already up on BigCartel will remain for sale and reduce in price. I also now have an Instagram account @levelupfingerboards where I follow back all other public fingerboard related accounts.

- My CNC aluminum mold from NFB Molds has been ordered and we are in the process of confirming the specs.

- I picked up a roll of Creamy Goo Source Tape to include a free piece with all future deck orders and replace my current foam tape. The tape will not be sold separately. I am still looking for a 1mm tape, made in the USA, that I can call my own.

- New bushing kits are being assembled and will be up on the Webstore soon:

On a serious note though, should have some new decks out early next month: New mold is due to arrive next week along with 2" vinyl stickers, got a new countersink bit that works great, and already working on the split ply bottoms for the next stock. Planning on doing a theme stock of  7 decks all with rainbow split bottoms kind of like this one...

A single color stripe of each deck would be bigger than the rest which would also be the middle and top ply color. Essentially 7 slightly different decks, one for each color of the rainbow inspired by The Dear Hunter's Color Spectrum EP anthology which I can't stop listening to.
