I came from the era that has been long forgotten and pushed into the past. I started fbing in 2004 and my first "non td" setup was a berlinwood old mold regular shape with td regs, and flatface non bearing wheels. The scene has became something so much more since those days. Just curious to hear stories of what era of fbing that you originated from, so please leave your mini bio below!

I started fingerboarding around 2011 I believe, and the only reason I know that is because of a homewood custom deck that is dated in 2012. My first setup was a 4Corner Fingerboard complete then later upgraded to my first "Pro" setup which was a Flatface G12 complete. I don't know much about the scene at that time as I thought only Flatface and Blackriver existed as decent fingerboard sites and had no clue forums existed. All I remember is the 29x100 dimension decks and fingerboarding with friends.

Starting fbing in 2005 with Tech Decks and then realised in 2012 that their was a community and decent fingerboard set ups. First wooden set up was a 4c fingerboard, ended up stepping on it and breaking it lol

I started back in 2006, took a hiatus from 2010-2013. I regret that. I miss the old days, when this was a hobby instead of a business.

I used to mess aroung with Tech Decks in 2009-ish, but all I could do was an ollie. In summer 2013 I've found my old TD collection and googled "fingerboarding". I've realised it can be more "professional" and stuff. I've watched loads of Mike's videos and got really into it. Then I bought my first wooden deck - 28mm Mitt blank. I used to sesh it with TD 26mm trucks and TD wheels.

I stated in 2009-2010ish, just with friends. But I guess I came from the era of 2012ish. When I joined this forum and started developing friendships with everyone.

I've been messing with tech decks since I was a little kid but didn't ever know about the online scene until I got an account on FFI after it crashed in early 2007 or so. Quit in late 2008 when I got into high school and now I'm back!

Around 1999 when techdecks first appeared. Back then you couldn't go to wallgreens, walmart, toys-r-us or target to get them, but instead had to go to like hobby shops.

Bought my first Tech Deck in 1998 at a Wal-Mart by accident. I was into skating, but looking for matchbox cars or something, and saw Tech Deck's and tripped out. I always wanted those bulky plastic keychain fingerboards but never got one. I tried to do stuff, but never really knew the full extent of what was possible with them. Mostly I just collected them for the graphics, being a kid into skating and just wanting all the cool graphics. It was probably around 2002/2003 that I found out about Tech Deck forums, and then FFI a few months later. I've been doing it since. I took a few small breaks but never stopped fingerboarding. My favorite thing is when the younger kids ask how I can do ____ so easily and I ask their age and tell them I've been fingerboarding since before they were born.

I remember buying my first tech deck in like 2003 it was a mike crum world industries. I didnt get really into until maybe 2006. I kinda just used tech decks and cardboard ramps for a while until i eventually bought a g11 before going to a brr meetup at fdr in 2009. Ever since then ive never really stopped.

| I started fingerboarding in the 5th grade. so i think thats around 07 08'. created my FFi account 10'. Those were the good old days. There was still new product to be made. knowing how to make great wood boards was still a bit of a secret back then. My first tech deck was a stevie williams "my name is" board from walgreens.
I have had the same setup since rendezvous 9. Berlinwood NM, BRT trucks and winkler wheels that martin winkler gave me at the rendezvous |
