I remember getting that huge plastic half pipe and getting a VHS of some fingerboarding stuff on it (anyone know what I'm talking about and have a link somewhere?). I still think about a part of that video where these guys had a spinning table with obstacles on it sometimes.
Closeup has a lot of those Tech Deck videos they shipped out: http://closeup-fingerskate.fr/a-propos/I loved that video of the spinning table, so good! They were legit at skating/fingerskating it was nuts. I wonder what those dudes are doing now lol |

| I used to Tech Deck years ago in primary school with a few others. I stopped for a while then started again in secondary school (5/6 years ago), then me and a few mates saved enough to get a 4cfb setup. I then managed to get a thrashed hard knox deck off an older guy that went my school. As we went through school people stopped fingerboarding but me and another mate were still hyped on it and after a lot of saving and washing cars I got a BW wide Pornstorm graphic from Fingersized. I also got some BRT wides for christmas from fingersized which i still ride today on my main setup and I just havent stopped since. |

| I'm from the age of the magnet-powered, hovering fingerboards. It was year 3033 when I first used a fingermagnoboard and I was hooked ever since. I remember going to my first event held in the Darbus Nebula, so awesome, 1st prize was worth a billion World Dollars! I've seen documentaries of old fingerboarders still bound by gravity, can't imagine using those relics. |

| Started in the late 90s. Before youtube we had the fingers of fury VHS and used to hang on the tech deck forums.
I've been fingerboarding for almost 20 years but had no idea how big the scene/online scene is now.
Just joined the forum! |

| Same here, 98/99. The local juggling shop had tech decks and some amazing (for the time!) third - party ramps and obstacles, snagged a graphite grind rail (would love to have that back) learned to olly and 50-50 and then didn't progress for yeeeeears. I had no idea there was any sort of scene until the last few years (and I feel I've missed it heyday) and I've only got my first fully pro setup this month (beastpants, Ytrucks, beta bushings, oaks ). |

| 1999 to 2002. TDs basically. Saw how their shapes changed too. I even owned some of those mini-TDs (remember those?)
But there were also bearing wheels back then (made by who?!?) I was in middle school n some kid desperately wanted me to trade a santa cruz w/ these awesome bright orange wheels (no bearings of course), for his single truck w/ 2 bearing wheels on it. Was so weird, never found out how/why he even got a hold of that. |

| Started late 90's early 00's just with plastic tech deck and non bearing wheels and stuff when I started skateboarding and ended up getting sick so couldn't physically skate for a long time so I was super into fingerboarding for a few years. Maybe like 3/4 years and then stopped when I was about 16/17 and just found one in my room every now and then and loved messing with it but nothing serious.
Went on holiday and saw a load of spots where I thought I wish I had a td with me to shred that spot so had a look online then and on forums only like a couple weeks ago and found out that they do bearing wheels and foam grip tape on wooden decks and I was like WHUUUTTTTT?!!
So I bought a cheap wooden one which is so much wider and stuff but man.... So much better and the ramps people are making and selling... Jheeze I think I would have creamed my pants if that stuff was out when I was like 12/13! |

| I played with Tech Decks as a kid. That was like 2005-2009-ish. In 2006, my buddies and I would make wooden boards out of craft popsicle sticks in class. We put sandpaper for grip tape and used Tech Deck trucks and wheels. Can't even count how many I must have lost to the teacher. haha. I only heard about Black River and Berlinwood when my cousin showed me a couple of videos in late 2009. My mom hates skateboarding and all things related to it, so I could never really fingerboard until I moved out. It wasn't until early 2015 that it dawned on me that I'm an adult with a job and can buy a proper setup. haha. I've been through a few, but I currently have a berlinwood, ff wheels, and brt. |

| started fingerboarding with a DGK stevie williams "hello my name is" tech deck in the 5th grade. got my first "radtastic" wood fingerboard around the 8th grade. That board was ass and buying shit offline was sketchy(for me atleast) since you could only use paypal and didnt know if you were about to get scammed or not. Im a freshman in college now so i need to do the math and see what year i started but im to lazy haha. And ive sadly just lost last week my blackriver setup i got from martin winkler at rendezvous 9. Hopefully i can get a new setup soon when i have money to throw around |

| I started in 2007/2008. I can't remember. It was back in 7th grade. I fingerboarded up until 2012 and then just picked it up again in the summer of 2015 and I'm better than ever! I love fingerboarding! |

| I started fingerboarding in 7th grade ... so 5 years ago! OMG!
Basically at the time the boys in my class were really hyped on tech decks , it became a trend in my school ! So I started to practice it too ... Eventually , like 1 month later , the trend stopped but I kept "playing with my tech decks". Then I found mike's videos, started making my own videos (really crappy ones) , got my first wooden deck after 6 months (a really cheap deck from a youtube company called Thornwood (does anyone remember this company?!)) and I just kept going...
5 years and I don't regret it at all! Besides being an awesome hobby, I met some wonderful people through this community ... So thank you fingerboarding * Maria being very sentimental and crap * |

| started in 98/99 when my local skate/surf shop had the plastic key chains fingerboards. I would take the key ring off and put real grip on them. I remember seeing that issue of 411 with Ronnie Creagor skating in his garage with a wild setup. He did a kickflip on this wedge transfer and it was over for me at that point. Then I got a tech deck. Anyone remember that 411 episode, "a day in the life?" Shortly after that fingers of fury came out and I got real stoked. |
