As I said, I'm trying to involve you guys as much as possible in the redesign of the site. Everyone agreed a style similar to unite would be a good one, so in light of that, I've come up with two test banners that could work. Let me know what you think!

I can change anything, the colours on it, the text, placement, things like that. I'm quite happy with these though, I wanted to go for a vibe similar to unite, but I thought as it was a forum, fingerboarders meeting on the banner would be quite cool. They're from two different pictures, hence the different placements of the people, slightly. I think the top is my favourite in terms of the placements.

But, still.. Thoughts? Am I going in the right direction here or not? Be honest, its your forum after all

I wonder what it would be like if you used the circular Union Flag as a dot and used it for both dots instead of just one, perhaps keeping the whole text going horizontal instead of the .co.nr being stacked in 2 lines. Or maybe just omit the domain extension entirely like the Unite banner.

I think the first one looks great! But I'd listen to Xi and maybe have the full writing going in one line instead of 2, and maybe make the word "Fingerboard" Be in like purple or something, the black is quite boring.

But I'm not worried about the banner, I just don't want the unique colours of this forum to be turned into a boring old white background like FFI, if you get what I mean, that's my main concern.

And I also have another idea for the forum, much like Harvey's old extape adverts that were sliding across the screen, it would be cool to have a link to all of Unite's friends, like have the logos sliding across and be hyperlinked to their websites

i agree with all of this. Great job Kerry it all looks insane!

EDIT: i'd actually change one extra thing. in the top pic the hand carrying the purple Blosom is quite out of focus and in the bottom it seems less so. Could you make it more in focus?

I like the top placement with the bottom text or having what Xi said with the text of the .co.nr the same size. Looks really good nonetheless (is that really one word?)

i like the top one! but not so keen on the bench in the pic or the hand on the left. maybe just have a deck or something on the left great to see somethings happening

looks good. i prefer the top one due to how the 'fbhq' logo fits in with the background, looks a bit cluttered on the 2nd......only my opinion though

And change the baby blue theme on here to another color. Don't have to. Just a suggestion. It's always been like this. Maybe something incorporating those colors. Green maybe.

I don't like the round Union Flag used as the tittle on the i.
I would like to see the banner just saying fingerboardhq without the domain extension.
OR I would also like to see a small circular Union flag for both the dots in ".co.nr".

no, I think constructive criticism and/or trying out new ideas like this is good. I cant say I personally like how either of these turned out though XD

2nd set the bottom one looks great! i just think it looks a little busy

the second bottom one is the best..but if you just centralised the text a tiny bit that would be sick!

I think the second one in the last set you did is perfect, because now I think about it, you don't really need the whole website address there and it makes it look less busy

Yes, if the last one was centralised and the Union Flag should be the same size as it is on the Unite banner.

Here's what I think...
Same text etc as the no co nr one, just put the bench centered with th blossom on it. No hands though.
If you guys disagree tell me, just wanted to put that out there. I think currently it is busy.
