Aphlikshun used to but it's not on his website any more. I'm sure if you sent him an email he might be able to hook you up or at least tell you when he's going to have more. From what I understand though the shipping on them is pretty high to send them overseas. |

Riptape usually takes me a week of fingerboarding until it gets good. I just set up another board with Rip and it is working great without even wearing in. How long have you been using it for? - GIllybear wrote:

Tech Deck, lol. I have an old one and it also works great as a rail. |

something aint right :S Precision in manufacturing small shit is expensive. id say its a lot harder and longer process producing a full sized deck pluse ther is literally 1000 times more material costs involved, storage costs, list goes on they have just found a niche and exploited it to crazy prices... and because they have set the standard of high costs other producers follow the bandwagon. I can grantee they see 3 to 400% gross profit margins on fingerboards to about 20-30% on there full sized decks |

not to be a nob, but you really don't know what you're talking about there. You think most skateboard decks are made by individual companies? Almost all the big skate companies get their decks made from bigger deck making companies, there are a few around who press a bunch of different companies. For example enjoi, almost, blind, cliche, and a few others I forget are all made in exactly the same molds, by the same company. BRR don't press their own boards I'm pretty sure. Making a skateboard takes soo little precision, thus can me made a LOT quicker. 1mm off on a skateboard no one gives a shit about, 1mm off on a fingerboard matters a lot. Also I think you'll find in both things the material cost isn't a huge percentage of the deck - its the time, effort, and money that takes that goes into making it. |

| I was thinking more on the production costs... Fbs are alot cheaper to make but cost as much as full size decks.. might take longer to make but still use substantially less raw materials than a full sized deck yet costs so much.... Simple case of paying for a brand aint it...
for example i remember flatface decks being $8 to $10 then he got famous and there like $30 now or summot... but still the same level of craftsmanship and quality...

the craftsmanship and quality of flatface decks now are far superior to what they used to be. |

| at the end of the day if you're going to suggest production of something is purely material costs, I'm sure my xbox would cost about £10.
skateboards + fingerboards, like a lot of things, the raw materials are very little of the overall cost. The two are produced in totally different ways, and thus comparing them really is stupid. I think if you just brought raw materials for a skateboard, but in bulk prices, you're looking like £5, if not less. Then I got to my skate shop and pay £50-55 for a chocolate deck. See how the two aren't really that related? |

| this may be true but like most things your paying for a brand name not a product. believe it or not Xbox is sold at cost price or when first realise they were making losses on each console sold.. Microsoft xbox revenue's are made from selling game rights to companies and xbox live etc. any whoo question answered... lets not spam the living be-Jesus out this thread lol i accept defeat good sir too Shay |
