thom - that's not even beginning to be the actual logo, just something I made in like 5 minutes to show the name. rest assured its changing! hope you can make it happy

Chill out bud that's the past and I don't live in the past... calm down ...no death threats were ever handed out... you'r respect for the people that have died for you just pissed me off at the time but that's in past...

Don't stress.. infact come and ill get you a drink or something to sort this out... im not one to hold grudges... Hand shakes can solve allot of things...

I feel sorry that your scared of us... you don't need to be im a big cuddly bear... and so are the boys very happy

Hope you can put this behind yourself... there's no need to hold on to the past... very happy

I would of said this a long time ago but only just realised I blocked you on hear so couldn't see any posts from you..

Infact ill say sorry hear "SORRY BUDDY"... I blew my lid its hard for me to not when ive literally seen people die in front of me for this country and then get disrespectful comments from you about fellow troops and friends who have died for this island ... Shouldn't of blown my gasket and this is why I'm saying sorry.

but you should show a little respect.. but ill hold nothing against you im not that type of person

ill be down......you know my thoughts on the British weather from now on though.....

also i agree with Simons stance on the 'comp' thing. i would prefer a meet for fun. no competition aspect....in alot of ways it ruins it for me. (not that i dont like the comp aspect, but there are like a few people who will win....its the uk after all)

it gets on my wick that every event planned for fingerboarding has to be some sort of 'special occasion' where we compete and there has to be loads of companies sponsoring....sure thats great, but in some ways i think, if everyone met up for a rave (for instance) does that mean we should get free drinks/ and the most pissed person gets their botty signed?

cant it just be for fun. if the comp goes down its not going to be 'the best in the uk' anyways....none of toebex's lot will turn up, and imo their are riders there who could win.

as to Gilly. he has said he is sorry Simon.....he was well out of order, but i belive he knows this now, and wont do it again. if he does he knows he wont be welcome here anymore.....the fact of the matter is you did provoke him Si....and im saying that as a friend.

and if Gilly does turn up with vengeance on his mind with a truck load of squaddies, im always up for a ruck.

Gilly has said sorry. i believe he means it. draw a line under it and move on.

Blosom what's the point in dividing our UK scene like that, I don't really know who Rory's "lot" is to you, but if Kerry does this well and it looks all good and professional, then what's to stop him turning up?

imo we should all make an effort to bring everyone in the UK together, maybe this will succeed or fail but it doesn't really matter, just at least everyone is welcome!

And I think we should switch it up a bit, make it more competitive than other events but still keep the same friendly vibe that all the other events have had, that would be easy to do, like Fast fingers!

the fact of the matter is the UK scene is divided.

the London (toebex's lot) and the Manc crew's....then the few far and in between.

and i said that in defense of 'your crew'. not the other way around.

'Rory's lot' are the people from London who turn up to his events...from London and surrounding ares.

Yes, but if Kerry organizes a really good, professional event with a competitive edge, then maybe that will get everyone to drag their asses over to Bristol for this event, so we could have the whole scene all in one room, making friends and seshing with each other, wouldn't that be fun!

Also, I don't belong to a crew, haha, I've got close friends who are the likes of Rory and Elliot, but it doesn't mean I've sold my soul and got the "London crew" tattoo engraved across my body lol!

its a general term. you are from London, so you are part of the London crew fingerboarders.

its like People from Manchester are Manc crew fingerboards.

the likes of myself and the odd few people who are elsewhere dont belong to these 'crews'

Kerry is in Bristol. he is Bristol crew.

i am from Cambridgeshire so i would be Cambridgeshire crew' only there are no 'crew' as im the only active fingerboarder in the area i know of.......there are a couple others but they are not 'active'.

London and Manchester are the hubs. hence London/manc crews.

if yourself and Toebex turned up to Kerry s event you would still be 'London crew' turning up to Kerry's event.

why do i always feel like a teacher when i have to talk to you Raf?

I see where you're coming from ross but I agree with rafi here.

a) bristol is geographically inbetween (albeit a little to one side) both 'scenes', so everyone will come.
b) rory might openly hate fbhq, but we've spoken a lot and we get on, and he also supports unite and fingersized - so I think he'll be down to support this. I'll ask him to make a video about it and hopefully many people from manchester will come.
c) what I'm going for here is like a much smaller scale UK version of fast fingers. good vibes, at least a few but hopefully lots of parks, places to chill, play skate, and so on. the competition is most likely gonna last maybe 2 hours, and the whole event will be 10am - 6pm, so LOADS of time to sesh and chill, not to mention all the aftersessions people will organise amongst themselves.

the competition is an incentive to make it as big as possible and get as many people in one place enjoying fingerboarding as possible - small meetups are great and I'd go to every one created that I could manage to get too, but they don't require planning or anything. If you want a meetup, just make one. Also, generally those don't happen places where the venue costs money, the hall is gonna cost me £80 for the day. Which is a good price for how big it is, but nonetheless it's a price that needs taking into consideration.
d) I think everyone here being negative needs to take a step back and just cut your talking at all if that's all you've got to contribute. This could be something really sick for the UK and believe me I'm going to work as hard as I possibly can to make it an event surpassing everything that's gone down before (not in a mean way to what's gone down before, but simply because I have bigger plans), and hopefully you'll all have a great time there. So why not get stoked and enjoy it! And if you don't want to go, then simply don't go. I'll make this as accessible and fun as it can be for every fingerboarder, whether they're a big competition person or just one who enjoys the social aspect of fingerboarding.

Besides it's not like when I lived in Plymouth, Bristol is very 'get-to-able', not everything can happen in your back gardens! See the world, starting with your own country very happy

a) Well, Leeds to London is closer and much easier to travel than Leeds to Bristol. Bristol's roughly as south as London but it's also to the west.
b) Rory's sound. I've no hate for him and it's sad what happened with Dooby/Forgiven. Stopped chatting to him a while after LW2 but I'm sure he's still awesome.
c) Well, the UK has no Championship thing and I think it's logical for Kerry to create one. He's one of the only internationally known UK fingerboarders, mature and can organise this. I think people wanting a Rendezvous style meetup could organise separate ones. We also had UKR3 and meetupnorth and don't forget the unite park unveiling meetup thingybobmeow.
d) I trust you can organise everything because you're awesome. You also don't really have other people near you to help out, I think. I am so stoked that the event is at a date where I'm actually in the country after missing so many. Are you contacting companies for potential sponsors? If so, have you already communicated with Damien?

well, perhaps but I doubt it's THAT much different to get to. And from manchester/birmingham/london/surrounding areas it's not really more than 3 hours to get there. I trekked 8 hours up to cyclone 3! it also cost me only £1 each way, lmao.

I've got the meeting with the venue as I've said on monday, got tons of things to finalise and work out then but they sound really interested, so hopefully then I can confirm the venue. Then it's a case of contact sponsors, make the website, make the flyer/logo, get the word out, maybe get some flyers printed and get them put in local skateshops/skate parks, work out other things I'm planning, build another park, AND then it's the day.

I don't think there'd be that many newcomers to cause any problems, especially if it requires an entry fee. People who pay up are supporting Kerry and the fact that they paid must mean they are at least somewhat interested.

People like me will turn up and sell/trade stuff that is otherwise a hassle to get (especially if you are a kid without a debit card) at reasonable prices, lol. Then, I will swim in my money at the end of the night.

That's a very close minded thought there. I don't know about you but I want to spread fingerboarding and connect it more with skateboarding, I'm in the process of working on a project that's doing just that in quite a big way here - which should be finished before this event so it'd be even more wanted to get some flyers for this in parks/shops.

and as xi says, if people have to pay they're not going to turn up if they don't know or want to fingerboard? but what if some people want to turn up to see fingerboarding and try it, surely that's a good thing?

I completely forgot about the entry fee, aha, but I just meant that if you ended up with tons of kids who have never even seen a fingerboard, what would they do? They won't know the names or values of products, they won't know where/who to buy from, and they probably won't be confident to ask some people? Just seems like you'd have a few kids floating around doing nothing shocked
Surely a championship would be people who want to actually compete for the prize? Seems like some sort of exhibition would be more suited to getting the name out!
I understand that you want this to be a huge event, but there would be a major difference in turn out of people, and turn out of fingerboarders.

I was awkward as poop at CS3 having only joined FBHQ for 2 weeks at the time but Blosom and Thom were cool enough to come and speak with me. Taking these awesome guys' examples, if I see any one looking introverted/shy/new, I'll go up and have a quick chat to them. I know how it feels.

I will always bring a whole bunch of fingerboard products not for me but for other people to try them out, get opinions of more products and to better understand their own preferences without blindly wasting a lot of money buying them to find they don't like something. This is of course if they have my permission - bloody kids taking my setups at LW2!

Also at LW2, I sold a lot of stuff to kids at fair prices. If they over offered on something, I'd tell them truthfully. Most kids without debit cards would have trouble buying stuff as they'd have to get their parents to buy stuff for them. I sold a brand new (in package) Redemption X Unite deck for £15, even cheaper than on Fingersized, a used Redemption deck/wides with FF Teflons/Close Up metal cores for £10 and a brand new Soma for £10. I hope those guys enjoyed them, I'll probably do a bit of trading each event.

My advice to everyone trading is to get a second opinion if you are not sure about something. Kerry, it would be good if you make this as one of the announcements at the start.

Kerry is probably going to wear his big ass Unite shirt with the web address on it. For further fingerboard information, we're just going to have to mention Unite and tell kids to "look at that guy's shirt and go on that website".

If all of us more experienced guys look out for newcomers, our scene will appear more friendly and accommodating. Everyone was new once.
