Sick rail

I just bought my first fingerboard two weeks ago, and decided to get a rail. The one's I found online seemed really nice, but a bit pricey for just having started out.

So I went to home depot and bought a few feet of square 1/4" rod, cut them up, and jb welded them together.

2 1/4" tall
11" long
1/2" wide

questions, comments or tips?

not bad, but you may want to try getting 1/8" round rod and drilling holes 3/4 of the way through the square piece so that they'll look a bit more professional but besides that man it looks nice!

If you are cool with the rough look then it's perfect as long as it's sturdy and doesn't tip over.

The scene is flooded with kids that want to start a company because they can glue i piece of granite to a piece of wood and call it a ledge.


It's nice to see people just make their own stuff instead of buying all the time

This. I personally make all of my obs, well atleast my father/uncle helps me. It certainly is fun and rewarding making your own stuff.

I just soaked the planks in RIT dye.

You should! Though you'd need like a bucket for a ramp haha. And make sure you mask or remove the metal parts.

Not at all. I let them soak for about a 45 minutes before I took them out. Didn't want to leave them in there too long, RIT dye is water based and I didn't want the wood to warp.
